Halifax do something similar, you can put a freeze on your card and if you want it lifted it takes 48 hours for the block to be removed.

the lloyds mobile app was pestering me about gambling for a while, so i removed it and use desktop instead which does not do that, my phones are usually rooted and they dont let you use lloyds app on a rooted phone so im used to not having it anyway.
