Betfred removed extra chili with feature drop ! Low rtp

So I have built up a few feature drops amounts on betfred extra chilli varying stakes and amounts. It was the full RTP version. It was under maintenance today went back on it just now and they switched it to low rtp version without the feature drop and all my progress has gone im livid. Where do I stand with this?

If they're going to do this sort of thing they should automatically reimburse you by getting the bonus average value and giving you a proportion of that per stake according to how close you were from triggering it. It's an absolute piss-take otherwise.

I suspect BetFred's attitude is 'pay everyone who complains and then trouser the rest'. Fucking shitbags.

I dont know how to go about it cos I dont have any screenshot of the progress but I spent a fair bit on stakes ranging from 2op right up to 80p fuming over it

I was reading some past thread where someone had a similarish experience. In their instance a server relocation on BTG's end had reset progress on the game. Even though BTG were able to see exactly what progress was made they refused to pay up but the casino itself reimbursed the person, but sounds like it was a goodwill gesture as they had a rep on this site at the time.

The best you can hope is for some sort of goodwill from the casino as they will be the ones who decided to change the game not BTG. It does sound like they should be able to get hold of your progress at each stake level so it's going to come down to how much they care about keeping you a customer or not.

As I have mentioned in various other threads, I have had this happen many times, and is now why I pretty much refuse to play any slot with any kind of pot/win bonus drop progression.

IMO this is exactly why the UKGC should outright ban this mechanic in the same way as bonus buys, if casinos or providers can't play fair when updates bugs or game removal etc remove a players progression, then they should not be allowed in the first place.

I feel your pain, and it is indeed disgusting, I had a zero success rate of getting any compensation back and neither did my friend who had a substantial build going on multiple stakes on a game.

Maybe if enough people complained to the UKGC about it they would maybe force something but I doubt they would even understand how it works and would insist that you are not out of pocket, its perceived value and its all random, blah blah fucking blah! Muppets.

We as players should boycott all these types of games and then lets just see how fast they stop making the bloody things, but unfortuneately people will still keep playing them

This is just rushing a huge downfall of online gambling and pushing players to only certain casinos.

No limit, Hacksaw, BTG, Pragmatic all on lowered rtp? Those slots are brutal on 96% I cant even imagine it on anything less.

I'd hazard a guess Nathan genuinely doesn't know if it's a fact or not, because he is obviously one of the middle men (or womeeeen) in these situations and may know little - or nothing at all, about the games or their mechanics.

This is why I never leave any progress tho on any game.

At any point a game update can ruin everything.

A tough lesson I’m sure, at best you’ll get what you’ve lost building it.

But what happens if you were actually up on the game during said build on a certain stake?

I can’t see that they’ll just some how award you a feature? We all know how these things pan out 99% of the time unfortunately and that’s a big fuck you from the casino.

And I shall reiterate again, that if casinos are running anything else other than top RTP then don’t give them a penny of ur money. Doesn’t matter if they’ve a good rep here. They are not worth giving a coin to.

There's certainly an argument to be had, in that any slot with an element of persistence will never achieve its advertised expected RTP% if it has ever had a client-side update that has wiped the player's progress.

Therefore you could make a case that the slot in question was non-compliant because it could not and did not return its stated RTP%. I would use this angle in your complaint.

This topic was touched on years ago when it was discovered that some slots where you have to collect stuff could only return the full advertised RTP% if millions of spins were played on it, which is unfeasible to the average player. I don't think anything got done about it other than discussing whether an RTP% range should be shown instead which would cover how far the player had built stuff up, but I don't think it was as simple as that.

This is a different kettle of fish entirely though - player are having money taken off them through no fault of their own and without any means of recourse. That slot would be live on well over 100 online casinos and any update that wipes progress would affect thousands of players, even if it's for mere pennies in some cases. It's a modern day version of a fruit machine being taken off the floor for something else after someone had lost money in it.

There needs to be a rule for these games whereby to achieve certification at a Test House there should be a mechanism built-in so the true average value of any erased progress can be automatically calculated and added to the player's account if such an instance occurs. If they can't implement that functionality then they shouldn't be able to deploy it for real money play.

If people were collecting supermarket stamps to be able to buy a new TV, and the offer suddenly got withdrawn overnight without warning and your stamps were now worthless, there would be a national outcry and probably some sort of ombudsman to complain to.

I would urge players to moan like fuck about this to whoever they can, because it's clearly not acceptable and needs to be addressed properly by people who know what they're talking about. The BGC (Betting and Gaming Council) would be a good place to start.

I complained to the UKGC well over a year ago on this exact issue, but it never went anywhere, they brushed it off, because they just didn’t understand ( despite me going into quite a lot of detail ) which is why I said if many more complain maybe they would act on it.

Notifying you of the change doesn't address the fact that it costs money to build up. The only reason progress is lost is because of an RTP change. Well, that remains true for some PNG games. I assume this to be a similar scenario.

Good of them to give their loyal players one day's notice, isn't it?

This type of slot should be dead in the water if they cannot be operated responsibly. The notice period they've given isn't long enough and they're closing the stable door after the horse has bolted.

Many thousands of pounds are in the process of being stolen from players, and there isn't the legislation in place to stop Betfred from doing it. Another example of how the UKGC isn't fit for purpose.
