Betfred robbed me

Hi, thanks for accepting me. Is anyone able to guide/advise.
I joined betfred on 9th September and up until 9pm last night I've deposited £512.
I withdrew £300. Betfred have said in chat that they are retaining my withdrawal as my history shows I could "potentially use it to gamble"
And my account is closed. They never even.asked for any I.d verification.... nothing

Eh?? We are not paying a player because he might spend the cash on gambling? If that's an actual reflection of what they are doing, then they'll never need to pay a withdrawal ever again!

I would be sending this straight to the UKGC. How can any site refuse to pay winnings by stating the reason is you might use the funds for gambling, but they were happy to let you gamble in the first place.
It would be really interesting to see what view the UKGC would have on this.

It would help make it more understandable if you were to include what else was said (obviously not any private information) prior to that part of the conversation you've posted. Tbf.

I'd asked why they advertise a within 4 hour withdrawal time and it was way after the 4 hour frame that they stated.

I can see those parts of the chat, but I have to say the first part of that chat sample could easily be a word-for-word standard response they (Betfred) would give if they were shutting your account as a duplicate account or you had opened another somehow after previously self-excluding.

In those circumstances they would refund unspent deposits and not pay winnings, which appears to be what they are saying there, a standard procedure.

Are you sure you haven't gambled with them previously and closed/SE'd the account?? From where I am standing, this looks like you have a history. I've a suspicion you haven't provided us with all the chat here.

I cannot believe a casino would out of the blue not play a legitimate player on the grounds they might gamble their returns - if that was the case, you'd get paid and then they would shut you out so you couldn't spend it back with them, it's not their look-out to nanny what you do at other sites aside from theirs.

No previous/duplicate accounts. No s/e nothing. I asked why do u state within 4 hours withdrawal and it doesn't actually happen I have no idea why they had stated history or whatever she.ite they talking about but I'm contacting gcuk on Monday with the conversation to see what they say about it. At the end of the day my account was open for 4 days max, they allowed me to deposit 500 but not withdraw 300..... incase I gamble it? Erm, u let me deposit 500 and gamble that!!!

Kinda agree with @dunover we need to understand the whole picture.

It doesn't give good excuse the support answer which seems to also not really explain their logic, but there must be a logic behind it. Which we can't see without full picture.

It's not your picture to understand, I posted here to bring awareness of betfred and how they retain people's money. Take that how you wish.
