Luxor Valley (Gamescale) Malfunction?

So I was playing Luxor Valley last night - hadn't realised this old Viaden game was back but it seems to be, although the new design leaves something to be desired it must be said! It is now developed by Gamescale - I assume they bought the licence?

Anyway, playing it last night and something very odd happened. It's essentially a Book Of Ra clone and I hit the feature, got 10's as the expanding scatter. Aside from the fact I went all 10 spins without even 3 10's appearing, when 2 appear, they expand even though there is no payout. No problem: a bit frustrating but that's how the Viaden version worked too.

However on the 7th spin I got 4 J symbols on the middle line with a 10 in view on reels 4 and 5. The 10's expanded and then it paid me for 3 J's, not 4. Two spins later, I got a re-trigger: 3 scatters on reels 3, 4 and 5 with a 10 visible on reel 4 and 5. Again, the 10's both expanded to give me a big fat nothing and effectively hide 2 of the 3 scatters then went to the last spin with no re-trigger!! It didn't even pay me for the 3 scatter re-trigger. So I won a grand total of 4x from the free spins although to be fair, that was my largest payout in some 200 spins!

The Help text for the game is below.

I am waiting for the casino to re-spin: will be interesting to see what they say. I'm inclined to do more research on the game and find it's TST because the whole experience of playing it struck me as very odd but my gut feel is that - like the Viaden version - it should asses the wins in view and any re-triggers based on the symbols you see when the reels land, not after the symbols have expanded.

Viaden just sort of slipped out of the consciousness a while back. I had a feeling we might see them return in some form and it appears to be Gamescale is the chosen rebrand.

Will be interesting to hear what the casino comes back with on this one. Perhaps that will depend on their integrity, so this is a good test of their support.

They also have these games live:

Beach Bar
Crazy 88
Treasure Basket
Cafe De Paris
Pin Up Girls
Discovery Slots
Treasure Hunters
Lucky Hero
Zodiac Slot
St Patricks Day
Horse Racing
Aero Slots

Where can you play them?

It clearly isn't meant to work like that, a copy is a copy simple as.

Isnt that one of the casinos who had the fake net ent slots

I'll need to check that - they certainly don't have many good slot games. No MGS, Net Ent, WMS or anything like that, although they do have the Casinomeister slot and other NYX games. The POGG Has them blacklisted and as having Affpower as the affiliate program, who were definitely implicated in the Net Ent scandal but on the Triomphe site, it says Casino Partners 365 are the affiliate program.

No idea. Going to see what the response to the game issue is first and go from there. Doesn't look good - not even an acknowledgement to my contact after 36 hours.

CP365 scam affy program. I knew I'd seen this crapola before somewhere, forgot I had it on my own scam page!

Euromooncasino, deuceclub, osiriscasino. Parklanecasino, oceanbets, magikcasino. Crazycasinoclub, slots500, ramsesgold. Casinobordeaux, casinotriomphe. Scam affiliate programs: casinopartners365, aff247.

Looks like you have found some bent games and I get spam from these w*nkers every day.

Sorry!

So I wonder where this leaves Gamescale, the game developer. The site is very professional and they have a raft of games. SlotMonster might be a man that knows how the Viaden game(s) ended up here. The issue here is with the game rather than the casino.

Hello there!

I quit my job at Viaden at February, 2014, so not too much help from me, as more than 2 year passed. However, I assume that at the moment this slot works "as designed". I also didn't like how it worked and even created a thread here at CM about it : https://sussexmskpartnershipeast.com/forums/threads/a-slot-with-expanding-symbols-and-scatters.44248/

Viaden was bought by Teddi Sagi, the owner of Playtech, and was doing an outsource jobs for Playtech. I'm not sure what they are doing at the moment but most likely they continue making games for Playtech.

Say no more. The 'P-word' is enough.

The game is seriously f*cked and badly designed, should be avoided IMO. If people are going to rip-off BoR at least do it properly like Play N Go did......

Thanks Viktar.

Interesting. I could kind of understand if the expanding symbols expanded to give you a win but they expand even when they don't, so you not only get nothing for the expanded symbols but you lose the other wins (and in this case, 10 extra spins). It masquerades as a Book Of Ra clone but it throws in this curveball.

I am sure Viaden had two versions of this slot and I played one of them a lot at Trada casino but I don't remember this issue coming up. This new version looks different to both the originals.

That original thread you link to covers the issue of expanding symbols negating wins so I guess there is no need to debate the merits of that further. I'll wait and see what the casino comes back with.

Just for the record: it was designed way before Viaden was sold :D

"Without enough information we could only speculate on the Gamescale development and deployment process, however we have been told that they purchased at least 11 games from Viaden and 'upgraded' them. Since that time they have released many more games. We currently find slots and other Gamescale games at two casinos owned by Conan Gaming Limited. This overlap of games has been very confusing to us as we still see some of the games at casinos stating they are solely powered by Viaden Gaming. (Trada Casino carries Luxor Valley, Dice Express, Non-Stop Party, etc. and has no mention of Gamescale on their website)."

Final update on this issue. The casino has verified that the game behaves as designed.

Personally I feel it is wrong for any slot game to remove winning symbols from the screen and replace them with non-winning symbols unless it expressly tells the player in the rules that this is the case so I have closed my account there and shan't be touching Luxor Valley ever again, that's for sure.

And that, as they say, is that :)

Thanks for your help anyway Viktar
