Need your input: Your Most Favouritest Bestest Forum Competitions?

I need some input here!
Hi peeps!

Yeah, so back in the day personally I won several of those 'scavenger hunts' Bryan posted for his summer bierfest threads as did @Supababe where you could win an Amazon voucher or case of beer! To remind you:

(I used to love intensely searching the site for the winning image while keeping an eye of the thread hoping nobody had beat me to it, which in the above case they did haha!)

Numerous other members here have won comp prizes since then so it's about time you let us know your favourite win and why you entered.

As you know, for the foreseeable we have monthly 1k forum comps sometimes based on real-play and sometimes demo. They take various formats so some may be a screenie raffle whereby your cash prize is pot luck (like this month's) or some a leaderboard where a prize is guranteed for you if you finish in one of the paid positions i.e. for a 'best win' model like we had in August with the Bonanza, TS2, IR, Rhino etc. demo one.

So your input will be great, whether you've previously won a prize or not. Do you prefer a raffle format, leaderboard or any other type that springs to mind?

Do you think demo is a good idea given that no real-money play is necessary or should we mix it up so we require entries stemming from real-money play at a proper casino?

Do you prefer slots or table game-based comps?

We'd be very grateful to hear your views and ideas so going forward we can tailor the comps to incorporate your general preferences and ideas.

P.S. Anyone remember the El Bastardo one years back that I was tasked with by Bryan? :p

I much prefer slots contests, and the most enjoyable ones for me have been those offered by Pragmatic a year or two ago where you, say, post your top 3 wins of the day and by the end, everything is added together to settle the winners.

A concept I would like to see, would be some kind of daily quest-based format. Like, day 1: 'hit 4 scatters on Big Bass Bonanza', day 2: 'hit a 10x coin on Razor Shark', whatever, then be awarded points for each completed quest, just to have some variation from the biggest multiplier wins concept, while also rewarding daily play 😊

@SCATT3R Yes, that's good. So the daily one is effectively an aggregate rather than a single absolute win. I suppose bonus buys would need to be excluded from that as some jurisdictions would get a big advantage but yes, forgot all about those ones!

A daily task/quest one could be simplified into a weekly one to make it easier to administer, or we could make say 31 daily tasks in advance whereby you could do them in any order, ticking them off. Then a raffle?? with entries related to how many you'd done before it closes?

Great input!

The recent comps have been fun, I enjoyed the biggest x win demo contest.
Not just because I won a prize haha.
Looking forward to what else is in the pipeline.

Cheers
Yeah it's a simple format and attractive because no spends necessary. Trouble is availability, as we found out when having to swap out the WMS aka L&W games of Montezuma and rhino quite quickly.

So if we did another like that we would ask for your ideas for 6 or 7 preferred games.

The comps that require daily real money play are unfortunately out of the reach of those of us who are not daily players. We could be the minority though. I’ve no idea to be honest!

In saying that, my play is mostly crypto so I’m never eligible anyway (real money comps). I fully understand the reasons why crypto is excluded though.

The demo money comps are good. Perhaps for the demo eligible comps, real money submissions are also excepted to cater for the larger group? I think this has happened in a previous comp already.

Finally, maybe mix it up with the occasional slot knowledge comp?

Overall I think this has been a great initiative. Anything given back to the community is appreciated!

Yes, inclined to agree about a daily real-play basis, maybe a weekly one or say 5-10 quests over a month that could be done anytime.

Demo play comps should and will always be accepting of any real-money equivalent qualifying wins. As you sya, that encompasses all possible entrants.

Slot knowledge comp - we could get The Bandit to enter for a laugh...

The bestest ever was the one organised by BTG when they launched Dragon Born - that winning screenshot that didn't cause a lot of controversy at all was ace
can you find it? I personally never ever saw 500x plus on DB...

I love the riddles and scavenger hunts on here tbh more than anything else. Get your old brain working
Yes, scavenger hunts are always fun, especially if they're hard. ⚠️

My memory is vague (even though its only a few years back) but i seem to remember winning a couple of those past competitions , the scavenger hunts etc , taking a clue and finding where it is on the site. I recall winning an amazon voucher i think? Also there was a comp that dionysus ran if i recall rightly? think that was a quickest answer first type thing, im sure I got a winning spot on that too.

Anyway yeah ive won a couple, which was nice. I liked the scavenger hunts , finding stuff, puzzles. Then i like playing for highest x wins (demo or real play). dont mind raffle type things (like this months is 5 entries and anyone can win any prize), but i prefer set prizes and knowing if i 'play some more' i just might get a better score.

Last i remember the last (i think it was) beer/money comp thing supababe won - because no one could reply the answer to the thread as there was something wrong set with it.! so she decided to pm the answer over instead.

Some good comps over the years , and some from casinos too just to add (when VS used to do multiplier comps on battle nights, and also when Trada was the thing and the reps here would do their own scav hunts - good times. :) )

Yes, defined prizes are good as you know your prize, if you win one, at the end.

The supababe one I think either me or kroffe had the answer too but didn't PM it, this thread is the one you refer to:

Yes, Amazon voucher or beer choice, I won 4 or 5 IIRC.

Was it not JG slots that did that mega comp a few years back where we were assigned teams and a leader board, with a grand finale one Sunday evening on live stream?

Memory is not what it was but reasonably sure this was the case. Think I ended up with a pizza delivery as one of the prizes and a few £££ on top thanks to a poor return from a White Rabbit feature buy??

Either way, right or wrong this was an amazing event.

That was it! Was great fun :p

Sadly we are not geared up to run that kind of event but I do like the idea of some kind of team comp, never ever considered that. At the end of the preceding month, get a list of definite entrants then pair or triple them up to take on the big wins and aggregate their team score for guaranteed prize pots on a leaderboard scale. 🤗

We could have the dream team of @ChopleyIOM & @PMKFRUITPRO & @snorky510238 trying for the Bonanza first position for example. 😛

Luckily I wouldn't be able to enter so my outlandish spawn can't be a factor but Choppers seems to run BTG at 125%+ so you could win a place....

I won 2.5k on here from a BTG competition back in 2020. A big Bonanza win on Pokerstars helped me.
I vaguely remember that and the fact I didn't win it and was annoyed.
