Hi everyone
I am a an experienced online gambler for over 10 years and registered with many sites. However, last year I joined a new site but after £200 deposit they suddenly closed my account when I hit zero balance. No explanation was given.
Stupidly, being annoyed at the time, and been logged out mid game and told they didn't want my business, I lodged a tirade demanding my deposit to be refunded.
At the time I wasn't aware of Gamprotect and my appeal to be refunded was centred around being vulnerable and clueless. They refunded my deposit BUT added me to Gamprotect.
Since February 2025 I am being blackballed, one by one, from casinos I am registered too, who are signing up to Gamprotect. They are sad to see me go but tell me they have to obey the rules.
This is my fault and I let 10 mins of frustration ruin years of being a good customer because Gamprotect it says I am vulnerable.
I have to get this one site to remove my name from that Gamprotect register otherwise I am going to be banned from all UK sites eventually.
Any ideas please? Thank you.

One of the questions I had about the scheme when I first heard about it. "How can I ensure that every participating operator has the same careful consideration when adding a potentially vulnerable person", nobody could give me that answer.

If you go to
You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.
, click on "Your Data" then click on the tab "Redress Process" there's a procedure to follow. If what you are saying is correct and you are not a vulnerable person, I hope it works for you. However, side note, if you get so angry about an online account being closed, perhaps you do want to consider remaining on the scheme.

Mark

Thanks Mark.
I am over 50 years old and not vulnerable at all. I hear what you are saying though. It was a one off event , late at night, and after spinning over 600 spins without a bonus then been told on a pop up my account was suspended, I just overacted. I am by no way a sore loser but that particular night I let myself down.
The redress process is to contact the site who added you to Gamprotect. So one company, one event , a stupid comment by myself has affected my whole UK integrity. Like I said I've been a member of certain sites for over 10 years as a VIP without any issues.
Thanks though for the advice.

Have you tried contacting the casino the casino who added you to gamprotect? I would approach them and say you don't feel you are vulnerable, and ask them to remove you from the list. They may ask for the £200 back though

I hadn't heard of gamprotect but after looking at it, I think it's quite useful provided it's not abused by the casinos. Realistically if you have mentioned that you were vulnerable, it adds a layer of protection for the casino to prevent problem gambling (but i can see how this can easily get messy if someone pisses off customer services)

Thanks...and yes Gamprotect is quite new and more and more casinos are subscribing to it.....when they do subscribe if your name is in that list they automatically close your account, even though they have no issues with you themselves.
So I've had a argument with one casino , lost my rag a bit stupidly and so they put me on list. So now after 10 years of having no problems, I'm now getting all my accounts closed down one by one. So be very careful what you say to casinos. I'm now trying to contact that one casino and to apologise but it might be too late.

So you lost money fair and square, then the casino declined to give you any more business, the you demand your £200 because.....?

Total chancer move and you deserve to be blackballed from all casinos.
No. They approached me to sign up. I did and deposited £200....when balance was at £2.68 I got an automated pop up saying we have closed your account. I've never been treated that way before as I am a long abiding casino player at many places. I called them they refused to take any calls or emails. I then wrote to their head office they wouldn't give me a reason, even though it was them who first approached me to sign up. So off the top of my head I played the vulnerable card to get a response. I threatened to publicise what they did. It was only then they apologized and offered to refund the deposit. So please don't assume I am a "chancery" as you say. I lose many times in many casinos and accept it. I was annoyed on this occasion as I felt I had been scammed.
