22bet, are they legitimate? Kahnawake license?

Just curious as to what people know about this casino? They've been advertising a fair bit on YouTube (I'm a New Zealander) and I'm on the look out for a new casino to play at. They reckon they have a Kahnawake license, but no hyperlink. Are these guys legit? Would love some feedback before I decide on playing here.

22bet is reviewed by Casinomeister - Rogue Casino Warning
... I take it the license is fake too?
Almost certainly. 1: Kahnawke casinos typically only serve Canadians, and 2: all Kahnawake casinos are obligated to hyperlink to their license verification page. No hyperlink = invalid license.

Uh, nevermind. The Kahnawake Permit List --

So yeah, apparently valid license, at least in Canada.

PS. tweaked the thread title a little, apologies for any inconvenience.

No worries on the thread title. Does this mean 22bet have potentially turned a new leaf given the license? If they're rouge I'm stunned they'd go through the effort.

Well, from my POV the Kahnawake license means something. What exactly it means insofar as what 22Bet is now compared to what they used to be is TDB, IMHO. It could mean they've learned to behave as far as their Canadian facing operation goes and the rest is still a free-for-all. Not saying that's the case, only speculating.

FWIW I'd be awfully careful making assumptions and "turned a new leaf" type conclusions. Given what they've done in the past they've got a lot of dirt to scrape off their reputation. Suffice it to say that I'll believe it when I see a goodly amount of proof.

It's apparently not unheard of for a rogue operation to subsequently 'legitimize' their ill-gotten gains. One only has to recall Bcasino, UKGC license et al, clearly associated with scam 1668/JAZ operators as their faux pax (having used the scam casino Oceanbets' CS address in their test site ahem..) proved back in the day.

Very true. That story has repeated itself a fair few number of times over the years. The Phoenix Award in past Casinomeister Awards is a good place to find such:
Meister Awards 2019
Meister Awards 2018
Meister Awards 2017
Meister 2016 Awards

FWIW Kahnawake Gaming Commission (KGC) is one of best "rise from the dirt" stories in the business. Back in the 2000s Kahnawake was one of the laxest, most reviled "licensing jurisdictions" around. By the 2010s they were working on fixing that and through the hard work of Dean Montour, Murray Marshall and Micki Oster and their staff the KGC went on to become one of the very best there is. If they hadn't limited themselves to the Canadian market -- though I understand that legally they didn't have much of an option -- they'd be industry giants. Well, they are industry giants to those of us that knew them during those "rebuild and renew" years, but I reckon you get my point.

I have played on this platform, and at first I was hesitant to try it, but they did not disappoint me. I won $200, the verification of documents was quick, and there were no problems with withdrawals. I can say that you can try it if you want to)

Thanks guys. Just wanted to rule out a Canadian player to see if other nationalities are treated fairly too, as the implication from Maxd seemed to be that the license might purely be for Canadian benefit while it's the Wild West for everyone else.

As for trying the place out, seems that ad was removed by Google because it was a breach of NZ law. I'll give it a miss for now.

is it K8 (Westward Way Tech N.V) same looks same as BC

No, 22Bet isn’t a scam. [Note: Removed Link to affiliate site]
They’re actually licensed by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission, which is a legit Canadian regulator. I’ve seen plenty of people use the site without problems — deposits go through normally and withdrawals do get processed.
Like any betting site, you might run into verification steps or slower payouts depending on the method you use, but that doesn’t make it a scam. It’s a real, licensed platform, you just have to use it responsibly like any other online casino.

It is important to understand the difference between “legit” and “legal.”

According to the Cambridge Dictionary, “legit” has two main meanings:
  1. legal or allowed by official rules
  2. honest and not trying to deceive people
So when you ask if a casino is legit, you might be asking whether it is legal, or whether it is honest. These are not the same thing.
A casino can be legal but not legit. Or legit but technically not legal in your country. Or neither.

All offshore casinos licensed in Malta, Curaçao, Kahnawake, or Anjouan are definitely not legal in your country, but that does not mean they cannot be legit.

It's not illegal to play on offshore casinos in New Zealand, as our current laws don't specifically forbid it. That may change soon though.
