Thunderstruck Wild Lightning

As you may have gathered if you have read our recent interview with the Founder of Stormcraft Studios, Terence Igesund, the Thunderstruck slot series is getting a reboot.

This will see Thunderstruck Wild Lightning going network live with all casinos operating Microgaming casino game content on 27th July next month.

Well we have been very fortunate to have had a sneak peek and have whiled away many hours over the past couple of days giving it a spin.

Have a look at our preview / review over on Casino Gazette here.

This is amazing. Thunderstruck the original was my goto slot back in the early days. Seeing this new version gives me hope that it'll be equally exciting.

Looks like a lot of work has gone into this.

Not actually saw it working.

But from reading the review i think they ruined a good slot.

Not a fan of 40 line slots and by the review nothing sounds original. The lock and respin with cash amounts is everywhere these days. The different amount of spins for different multipliers is hardly new. And collecting 20 double scatters(again not a new idea) to allow you to get a WS sort of ruins the random feature it used to give.

Might be okay when it is launched and might indeed be great slot but just sounds like nothing originsl in it.

I think they should run with this as their PR release statement

A very interesting topic that I have been looking at, I think this is one of the most important information for me. And I'm glad to read your post. Thanks for sharing! us map

It's not good at all. You cannot get the random Shitstorm unexpectedly as in TS2.
Hold and Link re-spins are tedious, everywhere and not very good and this has taken RTP from the FS features which now seldom pay over 150x if you're lucky, whichever of the 4 you've unlocked.
It plays like a low-volatility game where your balance stays in a range for a long period and won't go up significantly due to the lack of big FS wins.
FS can retrigger, but good luck with that...
Instead of 4 different and exciting FS mechanics, you simply have one now from (when all unlocked) Jotunheim 15 spins wilds 2,3,5x to Nidavellir 6 spins with 5,8,12x wilds and these don't multiply each other if more than one occurs in a win, which it won't often. Seen this hundreds of times before on numerous slots such as WMS' Wishing you Fortune and others. The graphics are a bit dull and animations OK with the only saving grace being the 5 music tracks created, like for Immortal Romance - hear a couple of them here:

Wash your mouth out with soap @dunover - I think Thunderstruck Wild Lightning which went on general release across all Microgaming operators yesterday, is superb. I even have got the soundtrack!

LOL...that makes it alright then. What's with the Rick Wakeman mask?

Wow congrats!!!
Actually, I took the time to properly test this today and was blown away by the game the longer I played it, with the sounds, effects and music etc. At first look it just seem run-of-the-mill but I must say that I agree with Newshound and Bryan that this is a very smooth and well crafted production and the features have been very well integrated.

So yeah, I must on this occasion swallow my words and stand up and admit I got this slot wrong! It's the best MG edition of recent years since they started using partner studios for their output. That'll teach me to skimp by reading just the rules and deciding I don't think it's anything special!

Just a heads-up this is running on a gimped RTP at some places. Rizk and Unibet have it at 96.1%, Videoslots and some others are running it at 94%.

For what is a pretty damned volatile slot, you'll want all the RTP you can get.

Gave up at Rizk, two disconnects in a bonus round is unacceptable, withdrew my balance and deposited £100 over at Maria Casino instead where it's running perfectly.

My impression of the game so far is that its an ok game, but very very hard to get anything big from.

First time i played it was dead.
Second time i played it was going up and down for 1 hour.
Got a few bonusgames that took a long time to finish and only gave x20-30ish, 5 freespinsbonuses (x20-55) and 1 wild feature (i picked it instead of a normal freespinsbonus) and got x8.

It plays like a low-volatility game

Really? you must have been lucky or I was unlucky - played this a few times at and it has done sod all. Not even had a link feature or free spins. Just does about 30-40 dead spins then chucks in the lowest win possible. The game of thrones version they chucked out is even worse

L&L has been in the RTP reduction club for a while.

Regarding TS3, played probably 1000 spins and have the Wildstorm loaded but no free spins yet. Had two Link&wins quite close to each other, one paid x70ish, the other x30ish.

It's chewed through the balance but 1000 spins is not a fair go, although I would have liked to have seen a free spins round by now.

Being overly critical, I don't like Thor or some of his cheesy phrases and should have steered clear of a Chris Emsworth lookalike.

I'll probably give it a few more spins but not overly impressed with the gameplay, yet. The production is a real achievement though.

Probably the most creativity I ever saw put into a game but it runs sloooooow and either burns me or pays very little and I haven't been able to land the Link & Win feature at all to date.

I read there are 92%, 94% and 96% out there. Ouch if you get the 92% version.

Well this was worth collecting twenty lots of two scatters for and then using up an entire feature trigger for it.....

Also because it paid something (1x stake!) I didn't get the fallback prize for a zero pay which refills the collection pot back to 20.

i collected the 20 for the wildstorm and got ZERO from it - i think one wild reel fell on the 5th reel?
so got I think, a 3x symbol at the front for 20 cents on my buck
A game I wont be playing again

According to the rules if you get a zero pay it gives you the 20 symbols back, so you should still have the Wild Storm available at next feature trigger.

Here's my video and review on this. Quite a long video (watch on YouTube for timecodes), although there are nearly four and a half hours of play here trimmed back into just over two hours.

well, like, I say, i still got a win; just at the front of three cheap symbols didnt align to the shit-ass wild reel

i did about 500 spins on this game and will never touch it again. and yes i should have stopped well before that number of spins. it was kind of fun but wins were low in all the bonus rounds i played (about 5 bonus rounds). 1.00 a pop and i believe the highest bonus i got was about 36.00. i also couldn't see RTP information in the info screens. i must be blind.

Played this the other day and thought it was shit. Nothing to win in the base game. Hardly reminds me of thunderstruck with its uninspiring shit symbols of planets etc. I truly hope they bring out thunderstruck 3 and call it that and make it 243 ways. After watching chopleys video I won't be giving this one another go.

Honestly I can't believe a studio could get the license to make what could of been a great game and we get this rubbish. I would rather play TS1 or TS2 any day over this.

I got the impression you could sink 2k in it and not see anything above 100x quite easily on low-ish stakes.

Least Bonanza will roger you for 1000x and chuck back 200x; this, not so much

I honestly think it's alright, played it quite a bit more last night and had a decent run for my money. It doesn't seem that volatile to me, certainly nothing like your average NLC slot these days.

I also got all the bonus rounds unlocked and when you take either of the last two it fills in 2 or 3 of the wild landing spaces at the start of the feature, which offsets the lower number of spins a bit.

TBH I only stopped playing it because the disconnects got really bad again (this was at Rizk) so I moved over to something different.

For reference I took part in the prerelease tourney put on by Microgaming. The biggest win I achieved after playing for literally hours over two days was 154x. Last time I looked at the Leaderboard, the highest win was nearing 1,000 x

Yeah I played it quite a bit after watching your video on Youtube and I'm not sure where this high volatility talk comes from? It doesn't act like a high volatility slot and doesn't seem to pay like one either.

To me it plays like a med-low volatility slot with a good number of wins in the 5x to 30x range. Bonuses rarely go over 50x and rarely under 20x.

I find the Link & Win feature significantly more exciting than the regular bonus.

Correct, all Microgaming slots now with different versions for some casinos to use to pull the wool over the eyes of an unsuspecting customer base in a responsible gaming way :)

94% seems to be the casinos' favourite for this? Even 1 of the places I play at that has had all games on max/factory RTP up to now slipped this 1 in at 94% :-/ The slippery slope.....

Took ages for wild storm to go 20/20 and after that take like forever to trigger the bonus which you can choose wild storm and it paid utter shite. Even worse than normal bonus. Probably not gonna play much anymore

My first 400 spins I had 4x link bonuses and 2 x free spins bonuses.
I had an overall loss of £3 when I collected 20/20 tokens... at that point the slot coincidently turned to shit.

No link bonuses and no free spins £63 loss in less than 500 spins, definite different variance and hardly any scatters.

265x my best bonus so far, although I'm not really playing it much since I'll only play at max RTP.

BUT, this 265x took 3 retriggers to achieve. So that's 60 spins

i dont like the wild storm at all, forfeit your (very rare) free spins for a single spin that could pay f all? naaaaah
