So with the football season about to get underway I have been rattling my brains about how the season will fair. The transfer window is still open with plenty of time for teams to make big changes so I may reconsider my thoughts. M|y predictions where pretty crap last season and I don't expect it to be much different this year, but it will not stop me having a punt on who will win what.
How do you think your team will fair this season?
My Newcastle United will struggle I fear as things stand but our manager will keep us up :D

My prediction on who will win what.

Champions League.
Winners - PSG
Runners up - Dundalk, I mean Bayern Munich.

UK team to progress the furthest - Spurs

Europa League

Winners - Arsenal

Runners up - Villareal

English Premier League

Winners - Spurs

Runners up - Man City

Relegated - Swansea, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth.

Surprise team of the season - Huddersfield

Championship League

Winners - Wolves
Promoted - Villa and Sheffield Wednesday.

Relegated - Burton, Preston and I hope Millwall

Div 1
Winners - Blackburn
Promoted - Charlton and Portsmouth

Div 2
Winners - Coventry

Promoted - Carlisle and Notts County

Relegated- Crawley and Barnet

English National League

winners - Tranmere

Promoted - Gateshead

FA Cup
Winners - West Ham

Runners up - Man U

Scottish everything? - Celtic

Ok Colin you've officially lost your marbles

PSG champions League?

Spurs prem?

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Ha ha. I do think that PSG have a good chance and if you check out the bettering I think they are 5th or 6th faves. Spurs are up there too and I think they will only improve as a team this season.
And notice that I did not choose Newcastle to finish top 3 :D

I'd think Brighton are more likely to go down than Bournemouth.

I think Huddersfield will be joining them back in the championship in 2018.

I'm not so sure about either of them. Houghton is a good manager and for me Huddersfield where the best footballing side in the Championship last season. And that includes my Newcastle

Love your choice of Championship Winners Col  (I think we'll be play off's)

PS: Also very good to see paulcr is a real person and not a 32 Red Slotsmeister bot pmsl :p :p

The owners dug deep into his pockets recently and that may give them the consistency to get enough points this year. I would love to see them go up

Think Spurs will struggle this season playing home matches at Wembley didnt play too well there last season in Europe ! Really big seasons for Klopp Mourinho and Guardiola

I can see Mourinho's halo slipping again this year but this time it will be so smashed that he could never wear it again. I went off him after the way he treat Eva. Where is she now?

I wish that I hadn't opted for Spurs so enthusiastically after this week! Those poor players must be pissed off about having to use food banks :(

So starting from +0- my first £5 accumulator for the season is on the below. The first few games of the season are notorious for throwing out shock results and I have hopes of Huddersfield getting off to a flier

£5.00 Accumulator (6) To Win

Bournemouth @ 21/10
Win-Draw-Win
West Brom v Bournemouth Pending

Man City @ 1/3
Win-Draw-Win
Brighton v Man City Pending

Southampton @ 3/5
Win-Draw-Win
Southampton v Swansea Pending

Huddersfield @ 4/1
Win-Draw-Win
Crystal Palace v Huddersfield Pending

Chelsea @ 2/7
Win-Draw-Win
Chelsea v Burnley Pending

Liverpool @ 8/15
Win-Draw-Win
Watford v Liverpool Pending

Potential returns £325.94

well what a bloody night I'm having, fuming at the moment

Bet 1

bet01.webp

Penalty in both games, Ronaldo sent off in Barca game, 7 yellows in the Juve game, but no red.

But this is why I'm really fuming and if Skybet ever answer live chat they will be getting told what I think!

bet02.webp

There were 6 corners to PSG (all the other parts won) BUT as the 6th was the last second, the ref blew before it was taken, so Skybet have decided not to payout. Never mind that the sky sports website shows this

skybet02.webp

and the skybet app just after the game showed

skybet03.webp

So I'm absolutely FUMING haha

EDIT: Skybet have now placed all the bets back into play, no doubt from the backlash from the footy accums customers who all backed it too!

Did you get the payout?

Nope not yet, its still in play. They are obviously looking at it again though as it was settled as a loser. It will look even worse if they do this then still refuse to payout. Paddypower, Bet365 and a few others have paid out on over 5.5 corners, which doesn't help skybet.
Also, a game can't end on a dead ball as far as I know so officially it must have been taken.
In my anger I seem to have missed another bet that I think won though that I forgot about putting on lol :D

edit, it won, was settled while i was typing this post out)

bet03.webp

It was indeed a wild start for English Premier League. A tough clash between the Gunners and Foxes has been witness. Here comes the Red Devils dominating the top post, well I'm hoping that they will be able to keep it up as the competition progresses. :notworthy

Congrats for the lucky winners..

It was indeed an unpredictable start. I had a feeling that Huddersfield would get off to a flier and I think they will do well this season. But who could have predicted Burnley?
I think I need to amend my prediction for Spurs to do well after the toon game. And Newcastle need players in before the deadline otherwise I think they will go down :(

I got paid for that bet last night :D

I think Spurs are worth a small EW bet on winning the league, as I do Sunderland at 20-1 with Bet365. 20-1 for us is way too high, i probably wouldn't be tempted at 10-1 or less, but 20's is mental.

Newcastle not scoring knocked me out of £1500 from £5 yesterday, can't believe they didn't manage to score, thought they would have been flying out and trying to get an early goal :(

What a result! Congratulations. Lets hope that you don't find your account restricted now as seems to happen too often these days at many online bookies where the bookie sees a punter win too much

I would have to agree with you, but this season just started ad we don't have an idea on what will happen next.

Ahhh Saturday afternoons.....the best gambling to be had, a free shot at the Super Six, where my results are going to come in today for the £250K, all whilst being entertained by the Soccer Saturday panel and the relentless ribbing of Phil Thompson, not to mention Paul Merson's tenuous grasp of basic English :D

The least I expect is 5K today for my amazing soothsaying skills

I must admit that Man U are looking very impressive so far this season. I am going to change my Prem winners prediction to Man U with Man City 2nd and Spurs top 6 only

Get a grip man! We're only two games in!

Man Utd started last season quite well too, as did City....Spurs won't finish top three though this time round

Wolves were the ones to let me down this week too, beats last week's effort though....I thought I'd kick off the season gently with a treble & all 3 finished 0-0! Now that would of been a nice correct score treble to kick things off

Put these on tonight, 3 x doubles

footie.webp

Was in Billy Hills earlier, Offer 2 today was all 4 teams in man city and malaga matches to have over 1 corner each half @ 28/1, can't be sure how the malaga match will go, but can't see either everton or man city not having 2 corners in both halves so stuck a few quid on :)

Typically not 30 seconds after I put all my bets on on scummy skybet, get a text from betfair, place a £10 bet on sportsbook and get a £10 free bet ffs.

What a tit you feel when you realise after putting the bet on that you did -2 instead of over 2.5 on one of the selections (was also doing a handicap bet which is how I screwed up, was meant to be over 2.5)

How much worse is it when they win by 2 goals instead of the 3 needed, missed a sitter at the end and a few other decent chances. and to rub it in, it was over 2.5 and all the others won. Only a fiver to return just over 200 but still

It goes to show that there is seldom a sure thing in this life :)
I'm still smarting from the Toon losing last night too even though that was no banker :(

PS.
I avoided mentioning Sunderlands troubles :)
PPS.
Opps,I just did!

Mention them all you like, we are terrible
I backed us to lose on Saturday, something I never do, at the start of the season I couldn't understand why we were 16-1 to win the league, glad I never availed myself of that bet! They want to get the club sold, not for the stupid money and terms he wants for it, then concentrate on building the team back up. I believe he's asking £50 million now, last summer he was wanting offers for more than that but also insisting putting a clause in the sale contract that if we got promoted within the next 3 seasons then the buyer had to pay him another £50 mil. No wonder no one bit! I don't know if thats still part of the sale terms he's asking.

I genuinely hope we lose tonight so the board finally push Simon Grayson out the door. He has no idea what he's doing and should have gone weeks ago. Lose tonight we are bottom, and we haven't won a home game since December last year ffs.

I genuinely feel sorry for Sunderland supporters. They are a premiership club and like other north east teams their supporters live for their football a little more than many other regions in this country.
I noticed the official attendance for Saturdays game was 33 thousand. Judging by what I seen on MOTD I think that there was half of that there. Do they include season ticket holders in those figures no matter if they attend or not?
By the way Richy Pitt (1973 FA Cup winning player) was my form teacher at school. He was up his own arse

Was he? Which area were you at school, he was my PE teacher and I agree, he was a dick!
