2026 World Cup

Now that all 48 teams are set for the 2026 World Cup, it’s time to place our bets ! Spain seem to be the clear favorites, and I honestly think they’ll take it all. That said, as a Swede, I’ll obviously be cheering for Sweden—though we all know how that usually ends.

Who do you think will lift the trophy? Will Spain dominate, or are we in for a surprise winner?

ENNGGG-EEERRR-LLAANNDD will very unlikely bring it home. Reliance on an aging striker is not a recipe for success.

It's going to be super-hot mid-summer in the US. I am predicting a warmer climate team will fair better. Argentina, Spain, and maybe Brazil would be my picks.

I am resigned to the fact that I will never see England win the World Cup. I must confess that I am not even excited about this summer's World Cup.

I've not been to a game since pre-covid. In fact for me, Covid destroyed my enjoyment of football. That and the obscene amount of money in the game.

I expect though when it starts, I will become a football 'casual' and support and watch the England games.

Well Congo would be even more unlikely than Sweden I think. If any team can pull off an upset at the World Cup, I think it’s Switzerland. They were really strong in the qualifiers.

I still love football, but I think VAR is dangerously close to ruining the joy. Football isn’t what it used to be.

Yep VAR is killing the game unfortunately. Good idea, but in practice, well, not so great.

i like the var. in general the games are more fair and i still celebrate every goal (no matter if it stays a goal or gets overruled^^).

i hope that i in a few years everything var related will be smoother

With the climate no doubt playing a big part in this, I would say that Argentina and Brazil will have a huge chance of taking the WC home, but I think that this will be the best opportunity for an Asian or African team to go far and I wouldnt be surprised to see Japan and Morocco getting to at least the quarters and maybe a bit further.

i dont like the interruptions but i like that the game is more fair.

here in austria every var break takes a few minutes. some clear mistakes are not checked. its an abosule sh1tshow. hands in the penalty area is a coinflip wether is a penalty or not. our refs are a joke and so is the var.

that makes it easy for me to appreciate the international var
