Court, Lawyers and ADR services - Advice needed

I’ve already dealt with several ADRs — MADRE, IBAS, eCOGRA, PADREE, and a few others I can’t even remember at this point. Honestly, most of them have been an absolute nightmare to deal with. Only one actually did their due diligence and managed to help me. The rest seemed completely useless — it almost felt like they were biased toward the casinos.

I’d like to ask forum and staff members, has anyone here ever taken a Malta-based casino to court? Specifically, have you hired a lawyer or filed a claim through small claims court (especially for those living in Europe)?

I’m at my wit’s end with my situations, and being outside of Europe is definitely making things harder for me. Any stories or what you've gone through would be of help.

I dont think there will be many cases.
The thing to remember here is casinos have alot more cash than the average Joe.
I for one, could not afford to take a casino to court.

IBAS etc is paid for by the casinos. So, I would expect an element of bias.

Good luck

Yes, I would echo the fact that the casinos have far deeper pockets than players. You really do not want to put yourself in a position whereby the loser of such a case is liable for the costs of both sides. That could potentially bankrupt you.

Hard truth, but something you need to give serious consideration to.

depends on the nature of dispute too, not all natures are covered by the adr's work.

Can you share the nature of your dispute?

I have experience dealing with Maltese ADR and lawyers. Finding a good one is a quest in itself. The overwhelming majority of law firms represent casino interests.

In my view, going to court only makes sense if ADR didn't help and the dispute amount is at least five figures with hope of settling before trial. Otherwise, the process can drag on for 3-5 years.

Has ADR responded to you at all?

Just an FYI ; Small claims you don’t need a lawyer it’s kinda like a basic forced arbitration between two parties. (Under $5000 where I reside , you can also claim filing fees $130) Cost your time + $130.

Supreme court , Most cases are 1 to 3 days long; I had a case coming up, retaining fees pre-court date I was required to have $10,000 fund with lawyer; and prepare for budget $8000/ day for court. Note this was criminal not civil but costs would be similar . Days before I had to give my lawyer another $35,000 to cover costs , Thankfully got quashed and I got a $2000 refund from my initial $10k; but on a perfect day and process it easily was $40,000 and can very easily go north $100K +++

When it comes to suing a casino ; that’s in Malta you would “normally” have to file in Malta - that being said you would have to read casino licenses and Terms + C , and your location as there are many facets ; so if you are a N American player and you used. VPN you have no case as you already broke their terms etc

Go to chat GPT and ask

So assuming you are owed $100,000+
Would be borderline to sue or not

As you could easily spend another $50,000/$80,000 only to lose a you have a weak case or council.

What’s the deal anyway ? And if you have gone through 5 ++ organizations, and 5/5 or 6/6 won’t back u and you are not ahead then sounds like court won’t matter ; you may only be correct in your mind and not legally, so don’t waste time or money and address how you put yourself in this position in the first place.

One final point / thing and I’m not trying to victim blame or come across mean but you seem to have a history of being lucky enough to win on a bonus but then not fully accepting the terms and limitations earned on said bonuses ;($100 max cashout or 10x bonus amount max win; stated before you get the bonus $$ ; but then your win is 2500x, and then starts Your battle) you then have expectation above terms stated; and chase them down …. so before hiring a lawyer I would double check facts and terms of site.
