Hi everyone,

I am planning a trip to Las Vegas in April and of course I am thinking about visiting some casinos while I am there :)
I was wondering if anyone here has already been to Las Vegas and could share some tips or experiences?

I am especially interested in casinos that have slots with relatively low stakes
Maybe you can also recommend some title that are similar to the ones we usually see in online casinos(like Pragmatic or Hacksaw)?

Any tips, recommendations, or things I should know would be greatly appreciated

I have to add that I never been in a real casino before, just only the online versions

Thanks!

Get off the Strip - get a cab over to Fremont (the old strip) where everything is cheaper. Even better, hire a car and head out to some of the provincial casinos in Vegas - you will get a totally different experience I can assure you. I recall playing $2 blackjack in a casino next a guy who had a can of oxygen sat by him - likely keeping him alive

The Strip is a must see, but very expensive to do anything there. Casinos at the furthest ends tend to be the cheaper ones to play at, for obvious reasons.

I make a small correction here. I think slots stakes are pretty similar all round. You get fewer of the old one-arm bandits in The Strip, mostly modern video slots.

I can't vouch for the RTP's all being the same. You may need to check on each machine you play.

I would recommend reading this thread as there was a good discussion around things to do/places to avoid etc.

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

I will stay at a Downtown hotel very close to Fremont, so I will definitely play there
I’m also thinking about renting a car

The only slot game I know so far is Huff N’ More Puff - it’s very similar to Bigger Barn House Bonanza from Pragmatic

Maybe someone knows more similarities like this?

Thanks a lot! I would read this thread for sure :)

I’m pretty new here and didn’t notice it before
And I see that this was over 3 years ago, so maybe things have changed

If anyone has something interesting to share, I would be very grateful

No worries - the thread was started 3 years ago but if you jump to page 3 you will see that the thread was started again in Feb 2026 so there is some relevant advice in there

been 6 times im afraid to say you will be underwhemled with vegas slots they look great but play shit,i can honestly say all the times ive been i barely even witnessed anybody winning a great deal, they feel like they play low volitility but trick you into thinking they have potential via the all bells and whistles effect put pay nothing, stick to playing the tables lot more fun and mor social the yanks love a brit accent

I’ve been to Vegas four times now (all staying at properties on the strip) but unfortunately the last time was in 2019 when things were very different to what they are now. It’s now a very expensive experience from what I’ve read.

I echo the comments about checking out Fremont. You’ll get a better experience there and probably better value for money too.

Thank you for all the information! :-)

It will definitely help me!

I’m going to stay close to Fremont - I think it’s the best choice

I hope I won’t lose too much money there… But playing in a casino in Vegas is something on everyone’s “to-do list” at least once :-D So I’m definitely going to try some slots - even though I know they have pretty low RTP

Absolutely enjoy yourself there. And do venture onto the strip and into a few of the casinos. Still an amazing experience.

A few things to add. 2025 casino hold figures (RTP effectively) showed Downtown actually paid worse on slots than the strip. It’s nothing like the value location it once was.
For slots which include low stakes, older machines and slightly better RTP, but not enough to worry about, go to places like Sam’s Town or South Point. Locals casinos with lower stakes table games as well and $6 beers. One word of caution, take a cab to and from the casinos. Certainly the area surrounding Sam’s Town isn’t great.
If you do want to venture Downtown look to Boyd properties such as Main Street Station for best value.
Only issues with off strip, less popular casinos is that you get less of the party, Vegas style experience. Whether that is a good or bad thing depends on your perspective.

Really don’t know what you mean. I’m sorry but I’ll never tire of posting this! 😁
