Heads Up - Zip Payments Payment Processor

I just got notice from my bank that 2 checks I deposited last week have been returned NSF. They were both from Zip Payments from withdrawals I had made at 2 different Fortune Lounge group casinos. One check was only for $80 and the other was only $50!!

You are NOT alone!

My sole purpose of reading these posts today was to see if anyone else was having problems with ZIP Payments. I received three checks from them within the past two weeks. The first one bounced, and my bank is holding my funds on the other two because they have "confidential information that the check(s) may not be paid" (straight off the notice from my bank). I contacted the casino immediately, although they claim they have not had any other player complaints. I was told someone in their financial department would investigate the situation and get back to me within 48 hours... that was several days ago and I have yet to be contacted. I feel only slightly better knowing that I am not alone. I am extremely upset that the casino has done absolutely nothing to help resolve the situation; or, at a minimum, at least had the courtesy to contact me with whatever information they might have. If anyone else has any information, I'd love to know!

It wasn't the Fortune Lounge Group, but I did contact the appropriate rep through this site earlier today. Haven't yet received a reply, but I'll be sure to post whatever I learn.

It isn't the casinos fault. I have always been paid promptly by Fortune Lounge group casinos. I just wanted to give warning to anyone expecting payments and always receive a check. I'm still expecting a larger check from another casino that I know uses Zip Payments and I'm worried. It's pretty bad when a $50 check bounces.

Update

It's been a week now since I first notified the casino of this situation, and it doesn't seem like I'm any closer to a resolution. The casino itself has done nothing more than thank me for my patience.

One small victory, perhaps... I did get an acknowledgment through their group's representative that a problem does exist. She even confirmed that my second and third checks would be returned NSF, and they were today.

I'm still sending emails regularly in hopes that I can get replacement checks issued immediately and sent via overnight. Considering my first withdrawal occurred June 15, I can quite literally say that I've been waiting a month for payment. While I do understand that casino is not totally to blame, their lack of response is abhorrent (or some other fancy word for completely shitty).

Hopefully I'll be a shiny, happy person in my next update.

It's an interesting if rather short article by CNBC writer Darren Rovell, who is apparently investigating the impact of financial bans in online gambling and names Zip Payments and Morris Mohawk Gaming Group (Bodog) as two companies that did not respond to his enquiries.

Rovell is intrigued by how pervasive - or not - the payment problem has become, and he invites Internet gamblers who have received rubber cheques or have been told that payment would take more than a month to share their stories by emailing [email protected].

Rovell says he was formerly of the opinion that the [U.S.] government was never going to stop online gambling run by companies with fifteen different names in countries outside the United States. His view has changed, and he wrote this week that the U.S. government was coming closer to halting the pastime by effectively crippling Internet online gambling payment systems.

His premise is that it's easy enough to bet on the Internet but getting paid is more problematic (in terms of timeframes etc etc)

Edited to add that the piece I saw did not mention Casinomeister, although when referring to Zip Payments it did comment that player message boards "lit up" with complaints about no-slow payments and bouncing checks.

Yup and if you search google (or any of the other search engines) for anything to do with [zip payments] the threads on CM are the only related search results.

Just wanted to add that the Fortune Lounge rep here has contacted me and is working with me to get restitution. Also, I received the physical checks that were returned from the bank and they were stamped with "Refer to Maker". I did a google search on that phrase and didn't particularly like the results that came up.

Actually I've read about zip on twoplustwo and sportsbookreview as well, and those forums truly have been "lit up". zip was used by many sites, including Full Tilt Poker and Sportsbook.com. Other forums have a policy of deleting the names of payment processors and their banks so as not tip off the banks, that is probably why you don't get many hits.

Ummmmm I received a PM about a week and a half ago that put my radar up, not really sure why but it did, I think it was gut instint.

I also received a NSF check back from my bank from Zip from a Royal Vegas Payout from June 15th. I haven't heard back from the Fortune Lounge Rep here yet. Has anyone else heard anything else regarding this?

Just wanted to update everyone. At this time Wim is working with me to reimburse me for my overdraft fees along with replacing the check. I think that says something about Fortune Lounge's customer service.

UPDATE

I'd like to update everyone on the situation with my withdrawals from Fortune Lounge group of casinos. Their rep here contacted me shortly after my first post. Wim checked into the situation for me, collected the necessary documentation, and got my payments re-issued to me through another processor. Best of all, he kept me updated at nearly 24-hour intervals until I had my payment in my physical possession. Thank you very much, Wim!!

I had 2 more live chat sessions where I was unsuccessful in getting any information about the whereabouts of my withdrawal of April 22nd. I finally contacted their rep here and received my payment this morning. While I'm a very patient person, this experience with their live chat (they were always polite, of course) was on the verge of making me lose that particular virtue. For instance, they kept telling me that my check had been sent once and then sent again and that it was really weird I hadn't received it yet. I agreed!! The actual situation was that a check had never been sent at all and their records showed an ACH withdrawal to my bank account. Except that also didn't happen and I didn't think US players could receive ACH withdrawals anyway. Nevertheless, Grand Mondial's rep here at CM was very helpful in getting the situation straightened out and kept me updated at regular intervals until I had payment in my possession. Thank you very much Mario!!



In the future, I will be using my QT and Ewallet Xpress accounts for all my withdrawals. No paper checks for me!!

the fl group of casino are the greatest and the people who work there r just about the best group you can find on any on-line casino. i had a bounce check from them awhile back and they did everything they could to get anoughter one to me as fast as they could. i still play there and have no promble getting paid. they really r the best.
