It will be interesting to find out what makes the forum community choose which online casinos to play at. For me it used to be based primarily on the software the casino used, back in the day, when most operators were locked to the one software provider.

Additionally, reputation came in play, especially when regulation was in its infancy. Although I am talking 20 years back!

So nowadays, what makes you decide where to play? Is it based on reviews published on sites such as Casinomeister, or reputation based on feedback here on this forum or others?

Or does reputation matter more than game selection or bonuses on offer for new depositing players?

As long as they pick number 2, 3 or 4 from the accredited casinos list its fine imo.

Brown nose firmly tucked away before I post.

Did not used to care (talking years back) but since becoming a veteran so to speak here at Casinomeister, a good accredited casino together with a rep who doesn't sleep makes up 99% of my decision these days.

L&L see 95% of my budget these days, the remainder VS.

Recently changed this due to VS promotions becoming pretty much worthless where I was very regular.

Used to use 32Red also as Mark would sort out any shit in no time, as Jan does.
Main selling point for me, together with appreciated loyalty even for tiny depositors with small budgets like me.

Now shall I have my Xmas bonus early or not, hmmmmm?

PS: Good idea for a new thread, would be interesting to see how others decide.

PPS: Was never a heavy user but been a member of ABC since it was pretty much Netent only.

If I'm playing slots they must be at the high RTP setting. This is not negotiable.

Then, primarily who gives the best ongoing bonuses.

But if I have a problem I remember how easy it was to get in touch with CS and how helpful they were. That goes a long way towards playing anyway (no bonuses) or quitting, (even if bonuses are offered)

Other than if it takes the piss, (like over a week) I couldn't care less about "instant fast payouts"

Being mostly a crypto player now, I do my research on any new site that comes under my radar. As you all well know, it’s a minefield out there.

I’ve found places from people here on CM (which come with recommendations), from online forums, and a couple from streamers that I’ve been following for a bit. Once I find a promising place I’ll visit it to see what it has to offer. The important things for me are that:
  • It has max RTP across all slots
  • It has a large range of providers including the ones I enjoy playing
  • It has a new release section (yeah, this matters to me)
  • It gets new release slots promptly. Bonus point if they get regular early releases.
  • It has a decent site design
  • And another bonus point if it allows you to play slots in true full screen
From there I’ll sign up, make a deposit and play. The next and most important test is a withdrawal. This is the really exciting bit as you never know if you’ll be paid. I generally withdraw after doubling my deposit ($50) so get a fair chance to test a withdrawal within 2-3 deposits.

Then it’s a matter of gaining further confidence after winning bigger amounts (eg $400, $1000 on $0.20 spins). It gets quite hairy at this point. I’m happy to say that I’ve managed to test bigger withdrawals relevent to my stake level at all the places I regularly frequent.

Of course anything can go wrong at any stage and I’ve accepted that risk.

For me it's quite simple, firstly my online slot play has reduced compared to what it used to be. I refuse to play at UK facing casinos since 2022 and that leaves me with 3dice. The games are well presented, the deposit bonuses are regular and get in to the positive if your vip level permits it, plus all the awards over the years you can't go far wrong. Not playing at the moment but for me it has reduced down to the one casino now

Don't want much, do you? :p

For me , I will generally go searching for a site to play, reason for looking could be one of a few reasons , saw an ad or YouTube video that piqued my interest or the place I am leaving my account manager has p1ssed me off or I’ve p1ssed them off and we are agreeing to break up! most likely the latter..:

Once I’ve decided to look, I’ll go to do a bunch Google searches , check recommendations from this is and (am I allowed to say…) sounds like assgamblers.
It’s then a matter of finding reasons not to play there once I have a few shortlisted ;

- Check they have providers I like to play
- ensuring they are not a dodgy Russian cloned site
- Layout of landing page and ease of using site (OCD kicks in at this point, clearly marked provider on game icon, new releases etc.
- Then checking they allow players from my Location
- read the terms thoroughly for anything weird; (withdrawal limits etc) and double check their license.
- If this checks out , I will sign up and get verified b4 I do any deposits.
- Ongoing bonuses and VIP programmes are important factors
- I never accept welcome bonuses or any deposit bonus; so this is never a factor for me
- Ill make sure the withdrawal methods work for me and time it takes to get my money ,
- Also deposits that also work for me.
- Bonus points for sites frequent and good VIP bonus with little or no restrictions, and contactable support who provide support ! Extra points if I have a single point of contact account manager.
- Fast payouts and no weirdness.

Now after playing for over a decade I now have now have a solid 4 places that work for me!
No accidents for 866 Days since Casino #5 got iced.
