I do think its nice to have a chance to buy a gift card and spend the winnings on something physical, rather than spending it back at the casino.

That's the thing tho, I don't spend it back.

Sure, A small withdrawal (£50 - £80) may see me deposit an extra £20 that I usually wouldn't do.

I always buy something decent from a big win or treat the kids / missues and spend very little of it back in deposits.

Something tells me they will have deals in place with whatever store/business the gift cards are coming from so this will end up costing them less money than a normal withdrawal would.
I could of course be wrong, but 'charitable' is not the first word i think of when i think of Casinos.

Of course it may work out so both player & casino benefits from it if you were looking to buy something from store X anyway, and now can get a gift card for slightly less than it would have cost you.

I think this is a really good idea and if it was available at the OLC's I play at I would definitely use it. Anyone know what online stores you can use it at, or what different gift cards you can get? @ESCJAMIE - is there a list?

I'd like to see this catch on at other online casinos, but I fear low take-up due to the fact that the money converted into gifts is 'leaving the arena' so to speak, and they don't like that. 'An incentive to cash-out!? You're sacked!'

The brands feel a bit like the stuff you get with a Natwest Reward card or Westfield Health or something like that, but there are some good ones - Argos, Asda, B&Q, Currys PC World...I mean if you did your weekly shop at Asda you'd be stupid not to get a gift card every now and then. Even just to ringfence the money so you can't lose it, plus you're probably getting something on top.

Will be interesting to see if it catches on for sure...
 
I initially and instinctively selected no... then thought hang on..... thought to myself if i knew i was planning a big purchase - say a new TV... and there was an offer for Currys then why not?

It is interesting to see how much more they are offering..... and how long it lasts. I mean you can gamble long term for as little as a 2.8% loss by playing roulette on a very boring system. If you deposited £1000 and just did a 1000 £1 spins with 10p on 10 numbers, your balance would be very very close to £972 - likely to be within £20 either way. (Perfect strategy on normal Blackjack is even better - approx 99% return)
So.. if a £1000 giftcard costs £900 its a no brainer. (This is why of course wagering is usually 30x or 35x to offset this manipulation)

With the above... I really cannot see them offering more than a 5% bonus.... which is next to nothng.

Id assume its around 5-10% cause there are already gift card stores online where you can buy a gift card
for 10-20 % discount.

It's not like that though, you are looking at it from the perspective of Maltese casinos who don't understand the rules. There isn't anything wrong with allowing this, as long as AML regulations are followed. It's no different to the Coral connect card, the paddy power card, the bet365 cash card etc. You can deposit by card and withdraw in shop, or deposit in shop and withdraw by card.

I ask live chat they have no idea, I assume you would get what you withdrawn but there can exchange it for gift cards at stores with differnt stores giving you more than others I might be wrong

So your not even guaranteed to get any extra.

And what are the higher amount scales?

1% 2% 5-10?.

I certainly would not want my money tied up even at 10%, extra, to then be tied into a list of 19 shops (most i have never heard of). I dont even shop at Asda.

Did a withdrawal tonight and went should i try it or just get it to my neteller. Lol neteller won.

I could be wrong but i would imagine if you withdrew say a £100 then you would only get £100.

The higher values are probably your withdrawals rounded up. So say you withdrew £98 you would probably get £100 giftcard as normally they are in increments of £10 or similar .

Fact it says often would give me the impression that they are rounding them up or something as a lot of people withdraw weird amounts.

This. I suppose it depends where you shop, but out of that list I would possibly use Argos ones, but there would have to be an incentive, at least 10%, and most likely would be around Christmas. The others I either haven't heard of, or they are, on the whole, more than 10% more expensive than elsewhere, negating any savings. The exception being Asda but I don't shop there, dunno about other parts of the country, but would rather pay 10% extra to avoid the customers Asda gets round here :D
I do sometimes get gift vouchers rather than cash from Topcashback/Quidco but then it depends on the shop and incentive. I shop a lot in Tesco so if they are offering a 10% bonus then I take it.
 
You then can redeem that £100 for say EX £110 in asda vouchers or £115 in curry's. Every company others different amount of bonus%.

I would say currys is by far one of the most know brands in UK, Its always on tv adverts
