Earth, man!
It was fun, for 5 minutes or so..... I'm already sick of the constant pop ups and emails about safer gambling, I'm currently half way through a bonus and boom, 2 hr temporary pause... I give up (again) once this balance is gone or cashed out I'm doing a lifetime or as long as possible gamstop. Fuk the UKGC, crypto or offshore for me. 3 dice have always been great, just wish they had more games....

Feel similar to this - im in the process of closing down my online accounts (which won't take long, only one more to go) - sticking to bricks and mortar casinos this year

the last straw was my latest place putting a max deposit limit of 400 a month on my account without telling me. can't be arsed anymore

100% Agree.

The worst ones are when you have not deposited for a while and then subsequently have a session.

Constant pop ups. It looks like your behaviour has changed and all this nonsense.

Well, yeah. I have actually deposited and playing slots compared to a period of non deposits. Of course it's fucking changed. I'm gambling. Isnt that the whole point of these sites? To allow us to gamble?

😂

BEFORE YOU PROCEED TO PLAY THE GAMES:

1. Have you wiped up and down at least twice?
2. Have you washed your hands?
3. Have you consumed more then four units of alcohol in the last 12 hours?
4. Have you had a family crisis in the last 3 months?
5. Are you behind on your household cleaning?
6. Is it past the time you would normally retire to bed?
7. Are your blood sugar levels correct?
8. Have you spent more than normal over the Christmas period?
9. Do you generally feel happy?
10. Do you ever suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder?

Yes to all (apart from 10 - i like the early dark nights and the winter)

Answering yes to all is the reason I want to gamble so let me play

Yeah but the sites have to do this now, otherwise the UKGC will fine them £1m each time they forget to dot an 'i'. Making gambling as difficult as possible for players means they can go offshore and get ripped off, you see?

What a great country we live in eh? God save the King and all that fucking bollocks...

Gosh yeah I just got one of them. Then they told me they implemented a £300pw loss limit (which was already on before and I obviously hadn't reached it) so I'm basically being penalised for winning a bit. I was playing more also because they had Christmas promos on the bingo. At this point it's just really not worth the hassle-total headache. And how is having a break or having a period of smaller deposits an issue? It's like they're saying if you deposit a lot and stake high the entire time that's totally fine but do it as a one off and it rings alarm bells? Make it make sense! That's why I'm wary these days of even putting deposit limits on because I think if I raise them if I have more cash one week I'm gonna get a whole load more safer gambling/we noticed your behaviour has changed emails.

A couple of sites spam safer gambling emails every week even when I've not even played on there for ages.

I initially found this site from googling the responsible gambling messages and then learning about the extent of UK gambling regulations from here. The first couple of months I played slots I got so many different messages that I stopped playing for 3 weeks, mostly out of confusion at how are you supposed to play these things then. I'd only ever sports bet before that and the most that would happen is that hour reminder if I'd forgotten to log out.

I was playing 0.10/0.20 stakes on every slot, first month I took part in a Christmas offer and won a decent amount but decided to slowly play it back to see what slots are all about. The second month I was playing the same winnings back so hadn't even spent my own money but got a you have deposited a lot this month message. I'd withdrawn half my balance the first month just because I didn't want to keep the whole amount on my account.

When I did play again after 3 weeks first day I 3x my deposit and used that in the evenings to play as much as I like. I got a very serious looking message on the day 7 that "you have done thousands of spins and very few people do that". I was more annoyed by it because I'd tried to accommodate all the previous messages while playing and still got a different one! I was also impressed that I played thousands of spins for around 200x of my balance. I thought it was pretty good value tbh.

The thing that occurred to me after a while was that surely people who really need the warnings have figured out how to get around them.

I don't blame the sites as they have to follow the law and they must have automated systems for these messages. Eventually the messages stopped after around 5 months as maybe the systems realise I'm just playing min stakes for fun to pass the time. Once or twice since then I have had a message with all the tools that are available but the other ones stopped.

Its just the draconian country we live in.
The UK, GB & NI. Whatever you want to brand it as. There is nothing great about Britain anymore.

If you set a deposit limit of say £200 that should be enough.

If i want to do 1000 20p spins or 40 £5 spins, it shouldn't make any fucking difference, as all of that is inside my deposit limit.

The operator will send a message, are you playing within your means, because you are spinning £5 a go, blatantly avoiding the fact you are still within a deposit limit that YOU set.

The first warning I got was on day 1 after i had been logged in for 3 hours and I thought fair enough. The rest all felt as you say.

I would believe these were about concern and wellbeing if the same rules and regulations were rolled out for things like netflix and tiktok. "We see you've binge watched 8 episodes...", "You've scrolled 600 times in an hour". I can't believe the amount of addicted people I see scrolling tiktok, people put their phone down and then pick it up a few minutes later over and over.

The difference with your example is there is no financial loss associated with scrolling through tiktok.

NO, true, but a significant loss of something that unlike money can NEVER be replaced in your life - time! ⏲️

I LITERALLY just got a phone call from a "Unibet Rep" - Was the most shocking shit ive had yet, literally thought i was under interrogation.

"Checking up on my unusual activities as of late" because i stakes an extra £150 more than usual...

After going through the bs of asking me all my details, how much i make, how much money i have left after tax and expenses etc, swere to god im surprised they werent trying to shine a light through the phone to my eyeballs.

The final result: £300 deposit limit per month.....

lmao

Fuck this shit now days.

It will come - along with a fresh air tax which I am sure is on reeves/starmers plan for this year

Correct but we dont have time police (yet)
When I got the "you did thousands of spins" message I decided to be a bit of an arse and tediously spin slots at no more than 2 spins a minute when I started playing again. I partly wanted to test if spin rate made a difference after reading various threads on here.

I did this for quite a while in the evenings and at some point I got a polite version of the "we notice you've been playing a long time" message! I hadn't lost money, hadn't done loads of spins but was dragging out the sessions for a few hours while taking breaks.

It's also the pretend concern around wellbeing. At one point I had to do a questionnaire before I could play again. There were some questions whether playing affects your relationships and emotions etc. If you've ever been around the phone junkies or telly addicts when they're in the zone they can get very cranky if you interrupt them. No different to the FOBT players I used to see in the bookies. It's just easier to get the gambling companies to pay for quangos so they don't care if addicted people snap at their family because they interrupted reality island or social media activity.

My issue with it is mainly the way the regulations have to be implemented. If it's about money then the companies shouldn't have to pretend it's a concern you spent a long time playing or did a lot of spins or might be sad. Like SYPlayer95 said the only thing they should monitor is your money and the limits you set. Problem gamblers must know all the tricks to get around the regs anyway.

Its already in place mate (to an extent) - my brother went to buy a Kia EV about 6 months ago and one of the terms in the 200 page contract was mileage data etc. could be submitted remotley and the something to do with shutting the car down if required. He asked for it to be removed, dealer said don't worry its a normal T&C and won't be used - brother told him to stick it and went for a petrol instead

William Hill have got it into their head to put me on a Time Out almost at the drop of a hat, no matter how many times I've explained I know what I'm doing and if I want to play for a few hours I'm still in control. If I misjudge the amount of time they'll let me play, boom 24 hour timeout. Really irritating when they've got a promo on.

haha ooop's, I just told 32red to piss off..... I would at least of been polite to them but, when you get an unsolicited phone call and they won't tell you who they are without you first confirming some details... Are they off their heads on some new shit i've never heard of? Phone me, don't tell me who you are and expect me to confirm who i am WTF. I think that interpretation of data protection is 100% wrong, they can at least confirm who they are. Anyway, fuk them. I only now know it was them because they sent an email, on top of all the other shit, they have imposed a lesser deposit limit as I am close to the deposit limit already set. So what was the fukin point in setting the original limit if you impose a lower limit because I get close to the original limit hahah. FFs i'm confusing myself trying to write this shit as it is so senseless, who the fuk at the ukgc comes up with this shit.... i guess without getting political this is the civil service basically being a bunch of brain dead's, dreaming up and implementing pointless shit just to annoy and aggravate, not to actually serve any real valuable purpose

@BubbleG

That's pretty bad, yeah. Asking you to give your details to them so they can confirm who YOU are, without agreeing to a phone call prior to the call.
I had an Indian guy ring me last year, unfortunately for me the company he said he was from did ring a bell. It was regarding my current health problem, so i did give the basic personal info they asked for. When I inspected further as to who or what they are exactly, they just hung up the phone

I've since spoken to one of their scamming colleagues who rang me a few months later, but that time it was I who had the last laugh, he got a lot more than just an FU :D
