PRESS RELEASE: BRYAN BAILEY PURCHASES GONEGAMBLING

29 November 2010:
For the past twelve years, Gonegambling.com has been the mecca for players of online casinos. John Abbott, the colorful owner operator of GoneGambling, has passed the torch over to Bryan Bailey, the director and creator of Casinomeister. John has made this move in order to spend more time with his family and to pursue other endeavors besides GoneGambling and Trader Auction Games.

“I am happy to say that I couldn’t be more pleased with who is taking over the sites. I’m sure that the sites integrity will remain intact under the new ownership,” stated John Abbott, former owner of GoneGambling. “I truly do thank the members and sponsors of GG from the bottom of my heart, and I know I’m leaving you in excellent hands with the new owner of the site.”

Bryan Bailey stated, “I am more than excited picking up this ball and running with it. John was an early webmaster mentor of mine, I always looked up to him and admired what he had done with GoneGambling. I will continue with his mission; to make GG the most fun place possible for the online gaming community. There are great things in store for GoneGambling and its dedicated membership. I am both honored and absolutely thrilled to be running this site.”

The online gaming community will be the primary focus of GoneGambling and will uphold its mission to be the most entertaining gaming website in the net. “We have some really cool things in store for GG members. This winter should bring them some surprises,” said Bailey, “I’m really stoked.”

About Casinomeister: sussexmskpartnershipeast.com is an advocate of fair play for the online casino community. It is one of the oldest and widely known online casino information websites having been reporting on casino related issues since 1998.

It's good to know that GG will stay in the hands of a person who understands fairness and integrity when dealing with members. I look forward to being a member for a long time to come and enjoy the "Casinomeister" touch at GG :>) Congratulations .

First of all CONGRATS!!
Strange, however, there was not one link to "GONEGAMBLING" website

I guess this is a prime example of the word "esoteric".
I have always wanted to use this word never got a chance till now:lolup:

If you look at the bottom of the CM pages, the third link from the left takes you to GG - as it has for years...

Congrats Bryan! Been a member there for years and will proudly keep that tradition alive :)

LOL... That is also one of my favorites! Being in customer service for the last 15 years, I can certainly relate to some of the troubles poor John and the gang have went through...

Although I certainly hope he doesn't have to put up with the likes of some of the nutsos that have been there in the past, I hope sometime one comes along and we can all read about how much the customer "is always right" (yeah, right) and they are put in their place by the almighty "new" Sheriff Bryan.

Here's to making GG last another 12 years (and more)!

Congrats Bryan! I became a member of Gone Gambling a few years back but never spent much time there - I couldn't figure out what to do or how things worked over there. Maybe I'll have to try again!

Congrats Bryan Hope the venture goes smoothly for you!

Chayton I was the same as you, I found Gonegambling before Casinomeister but could never navigate my way around the place was a little to confusing.

Edit: I really should have multi quoted!
Cheers
Matt

Sure you can try again, but you still might get lost :p

There is a relaunch in the works which will simplify the navigation and allow members like you to take full advantage of what it has to offer.

Congratulations!
Gone Gambling was one of the first sites I joined when I started in the industry. To this day I still receive regular sky diving race field results...Have no clue how they work though :)
Thanks for the input - one of the main focuses will be on the games. They haven't been pushed too much in the recent past.

Bryan...

Congrats on becoming the new owner of GoneGambling!!

One of my favorite reads on GG is the "
FRUIT LOOPS " stories... :D

Hopefully... you will continue this... and add some new updates to this on a regular basis... ;)
Gonegambling and me go way back - back to the early days of online gaming. I've got plenty of stories to tell. :D

Sad to see john go, but very happy to know someone with just as much integrity is taking over.

So, does that mean Aussies can join up now?
Thanks! And yes, GG is open to everyone.

I assume that means it's no longer an Oz based site- like Nifty used to belong but was booted when the gov't bought in the no australians at australian gambling sites rules

Yes, it's no longer an Australian based business. Australians are welcome to join.

One thing that will be of concern to members is the continuation of "paid for" benefits.

Conversions and high roller bonuses can be claimed once every 30 days, so many members will be "saving up" for their next eligible claim, having already "paid" by making the relevant levels of deposit into the participating casinos. They know this change has happened, but still have to wait for their next chance to claim a conversion or high roller bonus.

In the past, GG has had a standard that all casinos have to give 30 days notice of negative changes, so that players have a chance to make their closing claims for "paid for" benefits. John has given casinos that pull out without notice, and not honouring "paid for" benefits a very hard time indeed. SlotOcash did this to John and GG members, and ended up with their very own page in John's "rogue pit".

If these changes involve the removal of some of these benefits, even if better ones are to be introduced, GG members should be given a chance to make their final claims for benefits they have qualified for, as well as being informed that there will be no further benefits of that nature to be earned by making deposits in the next claim cycle.

There have also been cases where casinos have declined to honour GG prizes because an individual GG member has "won too many", and "their budget has been exceeded". It's a bit like a casino refusing to pay a progressive to a player who has "already won more than their fair share" of past progressives.
John admits that often there was nothing he could do, since the casinos had the upper hand, and could pull out altogether rather than agree to honour "too many prizes". John had to remove one game, and make cuts to the odds of winning bonus prizes in others, in order to keep the casinos happy, and "within their GG marketing budget".

John has also found that casinos place little value on further deposits from active GG members, and that they are interested in NEW signups, and that NEW signups are the key to GG keeping their sponsorship.

Many casinos left GG due to lack of NEW signups, even though EXISTING GG members continued to deposit CONSIDERABLE amounts at the casino. The casinos' defense was of the form "we would get those deposits anyway, we don't need GG for that".

Gonegambling takes a while to get used too
just make yourself familar with the links start at the top left an work your way down

GG Disappeared.

I am getting "sorry, this URL does not exist" when typing "www.gonegambling.com".

I usually use a saved link on my desktop, and this has been working up until yesterday. Now, I get the error message.

I also typed the URL (INCLUDING the www prefix) directly into the browser - same result.

Ths is WORSE than the usual "cannot connect to....." error, DNS simply has no record of this URL whatsoever!

So, what's up, I doubt it has REALLY been shut down.

Is this happening because the site is being moved to another server?

Yes, it's a routing DNS issue. These errors will (hopefully) disappear this week. We will be moving servers in a matter of days and the site should function a lot quicker, and there will be some seriously needed updates performed as well.

Hang in there :D

I get the same error and was going to do a conversion!
So what is happening with our accounts and points??
Everything is exactly where you left off at. We are in the process of moving servers. Normally when you move, you have both servers live and the change seems seemless except for a few hiccups. Unfortunately the server which John had hosted GG has had some technical issue that is still not clear. It's down. The new server is live, but can only be accessed via its IP address in a browser, but it should hopefully be fully propagated by the end of the day my time :D

In other words, you have no worries.

And so it begins!!!

Hold on tight, Bryan. If you lose sight of up, down and all around you will be chewed up and spit out pretty darn quickly! :D
This ain't nothin'. I'm married with children.

The site is now PARTLY working, but access to the "members area" is not possible.

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e07'

[Microsoft][SQL Native Client][SQL Server]The conversion of a char data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range datetime value.

/MemberCheck.asp, line 350

Is what happens when I click the link to log in to the members area.

This may well be cleared tomorrow anyway after the move, but just in case this error has slipped under the radar...........
