If it happened to me I would have been annoyed and not eaten the dinner. TBF the max win on the slot was 6500 or something? Why would anyone want to go to court over this and expect to win, or am I legally naive?

Next time you want free coverage, put out a glitch and get free media coverage for 10 years. And then get sued.

The judge's ruling. In 2017, a judge at Queens County Supreme Court ruled in favor of the casino. The court determined that the machine's malfunction voided the jackpot, citing a disclaimer on all machines that stated, "Malfunctions void all pays and plays". Bookman received nothing at all.

I bet she never even got the best ribeye either.
Apparently she refused the steak.

She sued for the max jackpot (6500). The actual payout was 2.50.

Feel bad for her, but she really shouda known when she sat down :P

IIRC the value she won was pretty much maximum value of an unsigned 32 bit integer, give or take a little, which would mean the error itself was an integer overflow.

She probably didn't know any better and didn't have her critical thinking hat on (max win etc) so just felt very hard done by.

Not sure she deserves more than what the spin result was supposed to be and I guess a steak dinner is worth more than that...
