What's Ya Weather At?

Just curious how it is where you are.
Been an unseasonable..well, season here. Been a fair few bright glorious sunny days, several of rain, and little snowfall. and this is from someone (Canadian) who expects several minus 20s, 30s and 40s yet very nearly had a green christmas (it snowed a smidge the day of) and is currently plus 4.

Weird. Been a very dry and mild December, 8-13c most days. Been anti-cyclonic for a long while and will continue into the middle of Jan it seems but not a cold direction, dry and calm, chilly nights and bright days.

Weird indeed. Not a single day in the minus degrees yet here in Ireland (That I recall). And not a lot of rain either, in fact I can only recall 2 days of rain in December.

I think it's usually late January we start to see the balls froze off weather, but for some reason I'm anticipating it not even being very cold this winter at all.

Baltic in Scotland @pinnit2014 Maybe in your part it's hot but here it has been between 1-4 degrees for about a week! Today it reached an all time high of 5degrees...
You tight buggers'll have to get that heating turned on now....

Live in old style housing @dunover it has storage heating in the living room and the hall ways only. Extremely badly designed. Would cost me a fortune to get heating installed in every room. Or even just the bedrooms. :(. I could of course sit in the living room but the internet is poor in there because of the design of my place.
I bought several attractive looking electric fireplaces - it definitely knocked hundreds off my heating bill since I now basically only heat the room I'm in rather the house and areas not needed.

Did similar about 2 years back

Did a "deal" with our local hardware store and got 4 Electrical "put anywhere" type heaters, guzzle the electric but save a fortune in gas.

Trouble is it seems that I didn't get quite a good deal as I first thought as only one of the 4 works to this day lol

Pretty sunny-ish here in Scotland, temps in and around the 6-7degrees mark on average.

So, bracing ourselves for the inevitable 2 inches of snow in March that will bring the nation to its feet

Or 2 snowflakes for those living down south :D

About 6-7 here for past few days, Xmas day was 12 degrees and sunny. Had the odd shower but no heavy rain, and no frost since a few weeks ago.

30m cable and a wheelbarrow. Take that heater with you from room to room as you stroll around the house...sorted!

Yep, it's been a mild winter, but fret not it will come to the -30's in a couple of weeks. It always happens on my birthday. Huge snow storms. :(
you dont have to share, but I forget whereabouts you are in ON (Barrie area here), and ya, it'll happen - other side of the lake is already getting their minus 30s

Down on the southeast coast it's been cold, a frost from mornin till lunch for days with spots of rain, finally had some sun today and used the small window to paint the front steps. Appparantly after touching the steps and not getting paint on his fingers about 4 hours after I'd painted it, my neighbour obviously thought it would then also have no problem withstanding his power stomping lard ass.

My place had those storage heaters. Would store all the energy overnight with cheap electric, but useless when it gets colder as they used to run out early evening and would cost a bomb to switch on.

I did what others have said and got those posh looking electric fireplaces now and just heat the room I'm in

Weather wise Out in the sticks SE UK. down to about 2 tonight

Get yourself an electric oil radiator.

Our Central Heating broke last year (during the beast from the east!) and I bought a couple to use until it was fixed. They get super hot and keep warm for ages (mine also have a timer so can set them for when I actually need it). Ours are also on wheels so you can move them from room to room easily.

I remember the pain of storage heaters from my flat at uni - my flatmates banned me from using my convector as I used up all of the electricity card in one day!

Yeah, I get you as my house is an older one and is installed with gas warm-air heating which is very efficient, but it doesn't have an outlet in one of the bedrooms, or the upstairs toilet. Many a time in winter I've sat on the throne up there and been reduced to a golf ball and cocktail sausage by the time I leave....:(

35 - 40 degrees C every day 7/365 and a quick shower/thunderstorm in the afternoon - 9 out of 10 days.

Currently, rainy season so be a longer shower / thunderstorm or more than one. :D
reminds me when I lived in Indonesia - 2 seasons, wet and dry..and both of them sickeningly hot

Very hot and humid here in the subtropics. A saving grace is that the house is not that far from the ocean (too far away for a view, though. :( ) but we still get the benefit of the sea breezes.

You might find it hard to believe, but day after day after day of cloudless blue skies and relentless sunshine gets very old pretty damned quickly.

When I left Europe, I swore I was never going to be cold again. I'm now starting to dream of colder climes and softly drifting snow - or perhaps that is just a recurring nightmare and my own personal idea of hell.

Love Barrie. We 'did' Canada back in '76 after the Montreal Olympics, and stayed in Barrie with friends for about 2 months and used it as a base while doing some touristy travelling.

I adore Canada - some of the nicest people on the planet, and some truly spectacular scenery (Thunder Bay in late autumn was something else again).

Jus drove near nottingham on home bloody freezing m8!, was driving in the high hills not far from peak District near stoke yesturday when white shit literally hit the fan and wome.. ahem, err, other drivers began to get stuck up there. Fk me I'm glad to be back down south lol. Though the snow did provide a bonus late last night .had a semi warm pack of beer to take back to the hotel.. so bagged up some of that shit and walked it into the hotel with me. Dem beerz tasted crisp, Yea boiii.

Lots of snow, and really really cold. Minus 20, windchill of minus 34. Hard to tell just how hard it is snowing as it is quite windy, so some of what I can see is blowing snow.

It is supposed to snow pretty much all day.

And tomorrow.

And maybe the day after that.

Looks like there won’t be snow on Wednesday. It is expected to be warmer, and the forecast is rain.
