If you use cPanel and or WHM in your hosting environment, patch up your WHM software like yesterday. Late last week a vulnerability in WHM was identified that allowed rogue actors to gain root access to servers running the software.
Thousands of domains have already been affected, with many of them being hit with ransomware and even worse, backups have been destroyed as well.
If you do use WHM and cPanel, lock down at firewall all associated cPanel ports, ie 2083, 2087, 2095 etc etc. By doing so even if your server is not patched, the exploit would not work.
