Things are not looking good if you work for William Hill this morning, after a malfunction led to multiple accounts being mistakenly credited with cash totalling millions of pounds.
The result has seen many players cash out large sums of monies before staff at William Hill realised the error! With many players posting about their good fortune on social media.
According to Next.io:
Email correspondence seen by NEXT.io, shows that William Hill Online has shared its bank account details with affected customers, including sort code and account number, alongside a formal request to return the cash withdrawals.

According to Next.io:
Others posted evidence of huge jackpots being awarded before later being removed by a manual adjustment. NEXT.io understands the accounts in question were then locked pending review, before the Jackpot Drop was temporarily removed from the site entirely.

The email read:
“During a routine review of platform activity, we identified an issue affecting the Jackpot Drop game which resulted in incorrect sums being credited to players’ balances and withdrawals being processed incorrectly.
“As a consequence of this issue, funds were incorrectly credited and, in some cases, withdrawn from a number of customer accounts, including yours, that were not generated through valid or properly functioning gameplay.
“Our review has confirmed that certain balances credited to your account and subsequently withdrawn did not arise from valid gameplay and are attributable to the issue affecting the Jackpot Drop game.”
