New rules aimed at improving the safety and clarity of player promotional offers are set to be introduced by the UKGC.

Online casinos will be prohibited from promoting potentially harmful deals that require customers to take part in multiple forms of gambling – for example, betting and playing slots.

Operators will also face restrictions on the number of times bonus funds must be wagered before customers are able to withdraw any winnings derived from the bonus.

These changes and are in line with the 2023 White Paper.

Takeaways include the following:

Capping the wagering requirement to ten decreases the likelihood of harm, reduces complexity, and improves transparency while maintaining consumer choice.

Thank you Jan :D

I guess the maximum wagering multiplier will lead to even less promotional offers than those that still exist today. Wagering as low as x10 whilst being great for the average player opens up the casinos to tons of abuse and giving away too much value so they'll have to cut back on deposit bonuses.

Likely to see welcome offers pivot to free spins to limit CAC whilst still being able to put a three figure number in big text on their front page.

Think ill half the bonus and leave it there. But ill decide after summer. Except for the wagering part the other requirements do not really affect us that much as we werent even conducting them. We still have awesome cashback service at all british and no bonus that no one offers like us.

Shame this is coming in IMO as not defending the casinos but they do struggle to send out the "GREAT" old offers of yesteryear such as the 100% deposit matches and 100 spins at 25p/spin all (in the main) due to operating costs and these daft rules forced upon them.

10x max wagering will destroy most if not all bonuses I feel.

This being said whilst Jan is about, I ain't kissing ass but currently where things stand the L&L bonuses are really good IMO. Last week got 300FS at Hyper for just £20 and yesterday got 60 ND FS at ABC, made a deposit and got 120FS for just £20. If we lose these due to the forced wagering reductions, I will not blame the casino but will moan (some more) about the UKGC.

Us low rollers with limited budgets rely on these. Game time and boredom buster is what it is all about.

Tremendous application by the UKGC, even if ten years too late 👏

Viable bonuses died many moons ago and yet casinos have been allowed free rein to dupe hapless punters with unbeatable wagering requirements, far in excess of anything that is considered player-friendly, like the greedy little piggies they are 🐷

The whole point of the 'peak bonus era' was that players could essentially eke out a longer session in view to a possible cashout, often via attrition, yet feasible. You were tethered to the large wagering but felt you stood a chance on 25-35 times your deposit. Then the piss-taking took hold and casinos had a field day with game restrictions galore and the 50x-plus ensnarement rituals, so well done to them for that!

Do we really believe casinos are to abolish this and not give it a different form? It'll inevitably be something akin to "Well done! you have completed your 10x wagering.....Part One!!!" or some shit, let's not kid ourselves

As for multi-product advertising, that's their whole raison d'être, so again, are we really saying that casinos won't want to find new and inventive ways to showcase their wares? I think not!

For all this UKGC posturing, if anything, there's certainly been an upturn in gambling-related ads as of late everywhere you look, rendering their 'efforts' somewhat ineffective. That is, if they weren't a corrupt organization run by hacks to begin with. Still, God loves a trier eh? 🙌

It will kill match bonuses or restrict them to paltry amounts like 10 or 25 quid if the WR is capped by UKGC at say 10x B. So expect more wager-free FS offers on Big Bastard Bollocks Bloody Boring Bass-type games.

*Disclaimer = In UK law none of those words are considered profane, the third one even specified as not so in court, during The Crown vs EMI in 1977*

I thought that ‘Bass’ was a filthy word around here? Adding the word ‘Big’ to the sentence sees you crossing the line. Time yourself out for a couple of days.

@L&L-Jan aw shit, I ain’t giving you ideas am I?
i prefer to provide a service instead of fucking customers over :)

But yeah, i do get limited and i do need to sit and think properly about this. Might just gamble and leave it as is. Im pretty good at managing bonuses and the abuse in general and genuine customers definitely deserve to get a benefit from the moment they join, it makes it a customer for life.

Doesnt mean your post is still funny :)

Regards the cashback at All British, you were if I remember correctly, leaders in this area pretty much from when ABC launched.

To get round the 10x wagering couldn't sites just put 10x on deposit and bonus, so effectively a 50% bonus would then have 30x wagering. Some sites already do this anyway eg Magical Vegas.

Or another option would be wagering starts when hitting bonus funds. Or a % contribution wagering split (so 33% on 50% bonus) like Lottomart do.

Though it would be nice having 10x wager bonuses :D

It’s interesting that Duelz apply their 10% weekly bonus on a Friday, which is crap (imho) compared to ABC. 🙌

Had this come via post 1x wagering have no idea why it’s so much I never use them 😂😂. Also had 50% extra depo match up to £75 and 75 spins on bonanza with only 10x wagering via video slots yesterday. I know it’s only just changed but no impact so far 🙏😂

Yeah, Virgin have been known to be quite generous with their players randomly. I remember I had a few of these back in the day. Once I even got cash.

Same!

I started on Virgingames tbh - Then ventured through out there other sister sites "Bally , Doublebubble etc"

And honestly - virgingames and the sister sites were actually really kind to me.

Hit my first £1000 on Virgingames on a 50p spin on "777" slot.

Opened a bonanza daily box 1 time and it gave me £100 cash.

Ive had mutiple back offers of "Come back and get your £££, highest amount offered was something like "£60 bonus cash to play with".

An on top of that, recently for my birthday on the 17th jan - they gave me £17 lol.

Compared to other casinos etc, Virgingames has actually been not to shabby at all.

Got the VS offer but sadly I never deposit £50 in one go so can't take them up on it as much as I'd love to.

It's a VERY attractive offer 50% + 75FS with the new only 10x WR.

Had the idea to miss a few deposits and make a £50 rather than 20+20+10 for example and take them up on the offer next time....

However once they see their figures after such an offer, I don't think there will be a next time lol.

Yeah i cleared wagering turned to cash withdrawn and the 75 spins on bonaza was still on my account thought they would of been forfited

I read it that the winnings from the Bonanza Free Spins also had to be 10x wagered, so I didn't bother.

Yeah, forfeiting or clearing VS bonuses just clear the actual casino bonus, any FS stay in the rewards section and can be used separately

The FS do carry wagering but IMO 10x is easily done on most sessions that offer a fairly decent play time, nothing special just holding the balance for a couple of hours, unless it's one of those sessions from hell where every 'click' is basically a loser.
