Serious Question about Slotsbonuses

I have a simple question, why does Casinos only usually offer welcome bonuses on 1st, 2nd deposits? They want ppl to play cash deposits afterwards when they could tie deposits up sticky 35x+ wagering?

I mean i play much better in slots/casino when i have to wager then when i play raw cash.. surely casinos dpnt lose giving this kind of bonuses?

If you look at the terms of a standard welcome bonus, you can see they don't really want to offer it.

As volatility of "streamer slots" has gone through the roof, it causes a headache for bonus funds because either the bonus terms become unpalatable for the player (60xB or more, 50p or £1 maximum stake, lists of excluded slots, maximum redemptions etc) or the volatility becomes unacceptable for the casino (liabilities of £50k+ for a £20 SUB).

Furthermore, in some countries - such as the UK - the tax rules have changed that further complicate matters. It may explain why free spin rewards are more common now-a-days.

But freespins that is not even wager free is complete rubbish, and secondary i see bonus options for like max win 5x bonus, does pol really take it ? I casually plsythrough Bonanza and eager 20-40x bonus amounts once in a while

It sucks, but bonuses have always been optional and people need to distil the good ones from the bad ones.

Seeing how many people have been snagged by maximum redemption bonuses over the years, I personally have zero tolerance for them.

I don't believe casinos became scared of punters winning too much from player bonuses, I think it was simply a case of 'follow the leader', once they realized players were willing to accept any old shit Welcome Bonus.

Used to be commonplace for a SUB to be in the realms of 25 to 35x wagering on the bonus amount and Bob's your uncle for many a year.

Myths and legends tell of even lesser wagering requirements that were even far less than that, but were perhaps a little too terrible to sustain, often 10x or less.

But yes, 35x was king, and so the Welcome Bonuses simply became 100% reload bonuses, they were plentiful, whilst benefitting the casino and the player and providing ample playtime. There's your 3rd, 4th, 5th and 85th bonuses, and it was never a problem to be used on any game bar jackpot ones. What's not to love?

Peace and tranquillity reigned, before one or two wise guys upped the wagering requirements to 40x, then it became 'bonus and deposits', then games were excluded from wagering etc.....to the point we find ourselves now.

Bonuses are long dead, and Welcome Bonuses a necessary evil almost used by casinos with no real player retention in mind. Yet games have also changed a lot in the last decade too and become so high-varianced that no one's likely to build up a bankroll and clear wagering, so there's always that :D

It's a bit of both - much like the matched betting crowd ruined sports betting, those paid services were also pushing casino SUBs.

Similarly, there are numerous threads here of people playing a SUB on the streamer slots and turning small stakes into £5k+, which will obviously beat any wagering requirement out there - and causes a headache for the casino (particularly if that customer is going to hit-and-run).

Of course, once they realised people don't read the terms - it opens the floodgates for them to impose more and more restrictive terms. Why offer a genuine SUB when you can offer a pretend SUB and get largely the same response?

Much like modern casinos and sportsbooks don't want to stand a bet... the early days sounded amazing because half of them couldn't do maths properly.

As with the professional players of the AWP era who earned enough to buy a house, I can imagine there are a lucky few that were both smart enough and in the right place at the right time to do likewise from early online casinos.

Agreed. I was in the party! Nowadays i just ran about them not paying lol
