Indiana Lawmakers Greenlight Sweepstakes Ban

In the land of opportunity, another US state bites the dust. After 6 US states have decided to clamp down on sweepstakes casinos in 2025, Indiana’s about to jump on the bandwagon, too.
Everything started back in December 2025, when Rep. Manning introduced the House Bill 1052 that proposed $100K fines for sweepstakes casinos. The Bill specifically targeted sweepstakes casinos and entirely excluded sweepstakes games such as toy crane machines or pinball machines. So, essentially, everything casino-style would be entirely criminalized.
But back then, that was just the proposal. At least until March 2, 2026, when the Senate President approved the Bill and sent it off to Indiana’s governor, Mike Braun, to sign it.
If all that goes the way it’s planned, the Bill would go into effect starting from July this year.
Indiana State Lottery, though, is completely ruled out of the list of possible offenders. Fairly standard in the iGaming industry when state-owned gambling companies are involved. May not be fair or logical, but that’s the way the wheel turns.
