CASINOMEISTER'S VERDICT

7.5 Our Rating

Big Pirate is a swashbuckling sweepstakes casino that features a treasure trove of prizes and an endless sea of top casino games.

After thoroughly testing this platform, we can confidently say up front that BigPirate is one of the most impressive sweepstakes casinos we’ve played at in a very long time.

We were blown away by the library of more than 2,600 games, which includes 99 live dealer tables. This immediately places Big Pirate in the very top rung of sweeps casinos with more than 2,000 titles, alongside the likes of WOW Vegas and Stake.us. We love the distinctive pirate-themed promos and the addition of Rum Coins, which you can use to unlock special bonuses in the Reward Market.

Our biggest criticism of Big Pirate is the banking process. With only bank cards accepted, it lacks the flexibility of many of its competitors and it seems like an oversight for a casino that pushes the boat out in so many other ways.

Pros

  • Huge library of 2,600 games

  • 99 live dealer tables

  • Fun pirate design with themed promotions

  • Island-building community game

  • Instant live chat support

Cons

  • Only bank cards accepted for purchases

  • Software and features could be overwhelming for beginners

Big Pirate Casino Overview

Big Pirate launched in 2025 so it’s still a relatively new sweepstakes casino. However, nothing would give you that impression once you join. Instead, this casino instantly feels like the complete package, with an incredible menu of games, tons of promotions, simple prize redemptions and great customer support.

Big Pirate comfortably has one of the largest gaming menus we’ve seen, with 2,600 titles that span slots, jackpots, tables, live games, bingo and more. We couldn’t find anything missing: if you want an industry-leading selection of games, this is it.

We got 10,000 Gold Coins along with 2 free Diamonds (the equivalent of SC) and 2 Rum Coins when we signed up, and that was just the start. Like all the best sweeps sites, Big Casino keeps the promos coming for regular players, with Daily Missions, prize wheels and the Claw Machine, all of which can land you more GC and SC without spending money.

Rum Coins can be used in the Reward Market to buy free spins or turns on the claw machine, or used to play Big Pirate’s unique island-building community game. This side quest-style game operates alongside your regular gaming, and you can even raid other users’ islands to claim prizes. It’s a lot to get your head around at first, but it’s a very fun and innovative feature that we’ve never seen at other sweeps casinos.

How Does Big Pirate Casino Work?

Big Pirate is a sweepstakes casino. It doesn’t let you deposit or wager with real money and you can’t simply withdraw your winnings like you would at a regular casino. Instead, its gaming is governed under sweepstakes regulations.

The virtual currency system at Big Pirate is a little more complicated than other sweeps casinos. Instead of the usual GC and SC, Big Pirate features three distinct tokens: Gold Coins, Diamonds and Rum Coins.

Gold Coins are the usual basic currency, the same as at other sweeps sites. They are only good for playing games for fun: no matter how many you win, you can’t withdraw them, convert them or redeem them for prizes. You can buy GC if you want, too.

Diamonds are the promotional currency, the equivalent of Sweeps Coins at other sites. You can’t buy Diamonds, but you’ll get some as a free bonus with GC purchases, as well through other promos. Once Diamonds have been used 1x in gameplay, they can be redeemed for prizes, starting from 50 eligible Diamonds.

Rum Coins are the wild card. Think of them as a bonus third currency, which you can use to enhance your gaming in different ways. You can spend them on free spins in the Reward Market or use them to enhance your private island, which leads to other prizes down the line. You’ll get Rum Coins in lots of ways: as a bonus with GC purchases, through the twice-daily login bonus, and when you play games using Diamonds.

Big Pirate Casino Games

Big Pirate’s selection of games is our favorite thing about this casino, hands down. It ticks every single box and reminds us more of a real money casino than a sweeps site, which tend to have more reduced menus. Let’s break it all down.

There are over 2,600 games in total, more than 95% of other sweepstakes sites and only behind a handful of top platforms like WOW Vegas and Stake.us. 2,450 of these are slots, which come from the top software providers in the industry.

There are some useful categories for browsing the slot library, including New, Exclusive and Jackpot, and you can filter them by software provider. That said, it would be nice to see even more filtering options, like categories of Megaways and Hold & Wins, or even themes like Egyptian or Horror.

The Live Casino is just as impressive, with 99 games that cover everything you want to see: blackjack, roulette, dice games, card games and game shows. The live games come from Evolution and Iconic21, two of the best in the business. There are also a handful of RNG table games and crash games, including some interesting options you don’t see everywhere like Solitaire. However, the majority of table games here are live tables.

Finally, there is a dedicated section for scratch cards and bingo, which again adds another element to the lineup, plus 67 exclusive games.

It’s a library that covers everything you could want from a sweepstakes casino. We especially recommend it for intermediate or advanced players who are looking to graduate from more basic sites, but really, it works for pretty much anyone.

Big Pirate Casino Software Providers

Big Pirate’s gigantic menu of games comes from 43 software providers, which is an appropriate number that provides a lot of variety. The list includes legacy providers from the world of real money gambling (NetEnt), sweepstakes staples (3 Oaks Gaming) and niche up-and-comers (the horror-influenced Shady Lads).

The live games come from Evolution and Iconic 21. Big Pirate has partnered with the likes of Ela Games, AvatarUX and Shady Lady to produce exclusive games.

Here’s a selection of some of the providers at Big Pirate:

  • Betsoft
  • NetEnt
  • Kalamba
  • Penguin King
  • Novomatic
  • 3 Oaks Gaming
  • Nolimit City
  • Booming Games
  • Big Time Gaming
  • Red Tiger
  • Hacksaw Gaming
  • Spinomenal
  • Evolution
  • Iconic21

Big Pirate Casino Banking Options

At Big Pirate, you can sign up and play totally free. You’ll get 10,000 GC and 2 free SC to start off as soon as you join and there are tons of ways to pick up more GC, SC and Rum Coins (which also extend your gaming) while you play, thanks to Missions, prize wheels and other promos.

You can also buy extra GC if you want, which usually comes with bonus SC, Rum Coins and a turn on the Claw Machine.

We’re giving Big Pirate a decent sweepstakes score for its overall banking experience. The available payment methods are definitely its weakest link, with only bank cards (Apple Pay and Google Pay) accepted for purchase. You won’t find e-wallet options like Skrill (which you can use at WOW Vegas) or cryptocurrencies (like at Skrill).

The range of purchase options is solid and the fact that Rum Coins and Claw Machine credits are included with purchases scores Big Pirate some extra points. Check out the full list of options:

  • $3.99 – 40,000 GC
  • $4.99 – 50,000 GC + 5 free SC
  • $9.99 – 100,000 GC + 10 free SC + 1 Rum Coins
  • $9.99 – 250,000 GC + 25 free SC + 1 Rum Coins + 1 Claw Machine (First Purchase Bonus)
  • $19.99 – 210,000 GC + 21 free SC + 2 Rum Coins + 1 Claw Machine
  • $29.99 – 330,000 GC + 33 free SC + 3 Rum Coins + 1 Claw Machine (Daily Bonus)
  • $49.99 – 500,000 GC + 50 free SC + 5 Rum Coins + 2 Claw Machine
  • $99.99 – 1,100,000 GC + 110 free SC + 10 Rum Coins + 5 Claw Machine
  • $199.99 – 2,000,000 GC + 200 free SC + 20 Rum Coins + 5 Claw Machine
  • $249.99 – 2,500,000 GC + 250 free SC + 25 Rum Coins + 5 Claw Machine
  • $499.99 – 5,000,000 GC + 500 free SC + 50 Rum Coins + 5 Claw Machine
  • $749.99 – 7,500,000 GC + 750 free SC + 75 Rum Coins + 5 Claw Machine
  • $999.99 – 10,000,000 GC + 1,000 free SC + 100 Rum Coins + 5 Claw Machine

As for prize redemptions, we were happy to discover that cash prizes are available from just 50 SC. This beats sites like McLuck, which starts from 75 SC.

However, once again Big Pirate suffers with a lack of flexibility. Only bank transfers or push to card transfers are available for prize redemptions, with no gift cards or alternative prize options.

Overall, we’re still largely happy with both the banking and redemption process at Big Pirate. Relying on a bank card is no issue for us and our cash prize came through within 72 hours, which is standard. However, there is definitely room for more flexibility with payment methods.

Is Big Pirate Casino Safe?

Yes, nothing we found during our Big Pirate review caused us to think this is not a safe sweepstakes casino. The platform is operated by Rafflefy Ltd, which is based in Cyprus and has plenty of public information online. The casino runs in partnership with Sweep Dreams, a sweepstakes affiliate company that provides back end services. We appreciate that all of this info is clearly advertised on Big Pirate’s homepage, for full transparency.

Big Pirate uses 256-bit encryption to protect all the player information that is stored in the site, which is considered to be very secure. There is a detailed privacy policy as well as clear and well organized sections for general Terms and Conditions and Sweepstakes Rules. Again we liked the transparency here: these sections are clearly labelled and go into a lot of detail.

Best of all, this casino really goes the extra mile with its responsible gaming resources. There is a very detailed page explaining how players should stay safe, along with links to multiple support organizations and tips of preventing underage access. You can set up purchase limits or game-time limits by emailing support, too.

For a bunch of bloodthirsty pirates, this casino does more than most to support its players.

Legal Status of Big Pirate Casino

Big Pirate is not a traditional online casino and it doesn’t require a gambling license. Instead, it’s a free-to-play social casino that also offers sweepstakes prizes. Even though many of the games are the exact same ones you’ll find at real money casinos, the structure of the gameplay – using GC and Diamonds instead of real cash – means that Big Pirate isn’t considered a gambling site.

Anyone over the age of 21 in the US is free to join, with the exception of the following restricted states:

  • California
  • Connecticut
  • Idaho
  • Indiana
  • Louisiana
  • Michigan
  • Montana
  • Nevada
  • New Jersey
  • New York

  • Washington

Big Pirate Casino Customer Support

Our experience with customer support at Big Pirate was very positive, mostly down to the very responsive live chat. We relied on it a lot during our Big Pirate review and the staff were always able to answer any questions that came up easily. In some cases, they even linked us to specific sections in the Help Centre, which is an impressive level of attention to detail.

Apart from the live chat, Big Pirate also has a detailed Help Centre (their spelling), split into seven sections with a lot of detail. Chances are, you’ll find what you need here without having to contact support.

If you prefer to send them an email, you can do so at [email protected]

Big Pirate Casino Review Summary

We spent a total of 14 hours getting to know this casino for our Big Pirate review, but we didn’t need that long to realize that this casino is something special.

The selection of games is a real standout feature. With more than 2,600 options, covering pretty much every type of game you could want, it blows the vast majority of sweepstakes casinos out of the water.

The ongoing stream of promotions, including the addition of Rum Coins, also enhanced our experience. At every step of the way, this feels like a casino that is striving to maximize the user experience and not just rely on the same old promos and games. The interactive island-building game is another perfect example of this.

As for improvements, the limited payment methods is the only thing that really stood out to us as an area where Big Pirate was noticeably lagging behind the competition.

If you’ve already played at Big Pirate, we want to know about it. Head over to our forums to share your feedback and experience.
