Given the name, you might think FreeSpin Casino is all about slots, but you’d be wrong. This new sweepstakes casino (launched in July 2025) actually includes a wide variety of modern casino games, including slots, tables, live dealers, and instant wins.

As for potential improvements, the 100 SC redemption minimum is high, with no option for gift card prizes starting at a lower rate. The browsing experience could also be improved, and we also don’t like the 4 SC cap on your winnings from the FreeSpins included in the welcome bonus. This isn’t something we’ve seen at many other sweepstakes casinos.

FreeSpin is a rare beast in sweepstakes casinos these days: an original platform, with no sister sites and software that doesn’t look exactly like so many other sweeps sites. 

We love the selection of games here, which is roughly evenly spread across a wide range of categories: slots, table games, dozens of live dealer games, and a great selection of instant wins and arcade-style games. If you’re looking for a site that lets you dip your toes into lots of different types of games at once, FreeSpin is a great choice. 

The no deposit welcome bonus is pretty good, but undermined by some terms. We got 200,000 GC and 20 SC FreeSpins when we joined. Our issue here is that the FreeSpins can only be used on one slot called Gorilla, and that your winnings are capped at 4 SC total. Given most sweeps casinos just give you around 2 SC to use however you want with no restrictions, this feels a little harsh from FreeSpin. 

We were more impressed with FreeSpin’s ongoing promotions. We love the Fun Zone, which is a dashboard-style overview of all the promos happening on the site, including daily gift boxes, Missions, tournaments and more. True to its name, most FreeSpin promos (like the daily Missions for instance) reward you with SC FreeSpins, rather than giving you SC directly.

How Does FreeSpin Casino Work? 

FreeSpin is a social casino where you can also play in sweepstakes mode. You can play all the games totally free using either Gold Coins or Sweeps Coins. 

Gold Coins are the social currency. Using them is like using play money: their only purpose is for playing games at FreeSpin. No matter how many you win, you can’t withdraw them or redeem them for prizes. While you’ll get plenty for free, you can also buy more GC if you want.

Sweeps Coins are the promotional currency. You can’t buy them, only get them for free through various bonuses and promotions. You can redeem the SC you win for sweepstakes prizes, either in the form of a cash transfer to your bank account or crypto. You’ll need to win 100 SC to request a prize.

This model is what makes FreeSpin different from real money casinos. It’s available in 39 US states, far more than regular online casinos, thanks to its free sweepstakes model.

We counted over 1000 games at FreeSpin, including slots, tables, live games, instant wins and arcade games. It’s an excellent collection: varied, balanced, and a lot of fun.

Slots dominate the site, with a nice mix of new releases and familiar classics. FreeSpin does a pretty good job of breaking down the menu into different categories, like “Hold & Win” and “Bonus Hunt”, as well as a “Favorites” section where you can save games to build your own personal library.

Apart from slots, the live dealer selection really impressed us, with 31 different tables. The games here are mostly variations of classic casino games, with multiple versions of blackjack, roulette and baccarat incorporating side bets and other fun additions. If we have one criticism it’s that we’d like to see more game shows here.

If you want a break from classic casino games, you have plenty of options there too. There are dozens of instant win scratch cards, arcade-style games, plinko tables, keno, Mines, and crash-inspired games like Limbo.

Overall, despite some clunky navigation, we’re very happy with FreeSpin’s game offerings.

FreeSpin doesn’t provide a breakdown of its software providers and you can’t filter games by them — a significant UX oversight. However, we counted games from at least a dozen different providers, including many big names such as Playson, Betsoft, and Evoplay.

We were also very pleasantly surprised with the deep selection of exclusive games — 116 to be precise — including creative games like Dia de los Muertos Respin and Panthers Riches. We’re not sure if these were produced in-house or in partnership with another provider, but we love the extra variety.

Playing games at FreeSpin is totally free, with no need to spend any money. You’ll get free GC as soon as you sign up along with SC FreeSpins, and there are plenty of ongoing promos that provide both too. 

However, you do have the option to purchase Gold Coins if you want. FreeSpin supports both credit cards and cryptocurrency for purchases, which is impressive flexibility. There are 11 cryptocurrencies available, including Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Ethereum and Litecoin.

We tested both methods and they worked just as they should. It felt just like buying anything else online, and the coins hit our account immediately.

As for redemptions, you’ll need to win at least 100 SC through games before you can request a cash prize, or 10 SC in order to request a gift card. You have the option of cash that gets sent back to your bank account, or crypto. Again, both methods worked perfectly for us, although crypto was significantly faster.

Yes. We’re happy to give FreeSpin the benefit of the doubt in terms of safety, but we do think it could do more to reassure players. 

On the upside, we’re happy to see standard encryption and a thorough KYC procedure before we were allowed to redeem prizes, which is a legal requirement for all legit sweepstakes casinos. We recognized plenty of games from trusted software providers, like Evoplay and Betsoft, which have a proven track record with fair RNG games. 

We were very happy to see a comprehensive and well-presented Responsible Gaming section, featuring advice, links to support organizations like the Gaming Addicts Anonymous, and a guide to using tools to manage your gaming.
