This SweepShark review is going deep on one of the most interesting new sweepstakes casinos to launch in 2025. We spent a total of 14 hours over the course of two weeks playing on SweepShark, getting under the hood with games, bonuses, prize redemptions, customer support and much more. 

Over that time, we found plenty to like, but also some notable areas that could be improved. 

In the highlights column, we’re putting the top class selection of more than 1,000 slots, organized into easy-to-explore categories. We also loved how many interesting promotions are happening all the time, and the well-designed software and unique fishing theme. 

On the downside, we couldn’t say we liked some of the conditions around prize redemptions. The gaming menu is also pretty thin on the ground outside of slots, with no tables or live dealer games. 

But we’re getting into all of that and much more in the rest of our SweepShark review.

SweepShark is a modern, attractive sweepstakes casino focused on slots. There are more than 1,000 games on the menu, from 13 top software providers, which are presented in a really interesting way with different categories that make things easy to explore. On the downside, there are no table games or live dealers, or pretty much anything else on the menu apart from slots. 

We got a total of 135,000 GC and 2 free SC as a no deposit bonus when we signed up to SweepShark, and completed some basic tasks to get our profile up and running. 

Bonuses and promotions were a real highlight of our experience. The usual daily login bonus has been upgraded to a Daily Catch promo, where you progress along the ocean floor every day you login, picking up prizes along the way. There are FreePlay Challenges where you can win SC free spins. Battles are the SweepShark version of slots tournaments, with four every single day. The Shark League takes it even further, allowing you to team up with other players to compete in tournaments for a shared prize pool. 

While we love these promos, there is one big caveat. All the SC you get from free promos (like these) are capped at 25 when it comes to prize redemptions. Only bonus SC gained from GC purchases is exempt from this restriction. 

This rule has attracted some criticism online since SweepShark launched. While writing our sweepstakes review, this was the only real black mark we could find against SweepShark’s reputation. 

How Does SweepShark Casino Work? 

SweepShark is a sweepstakes casino where you can play casino-style games for free. Unlike a real money casino, where you need to deposit cash and use it to wager on games, SweepShark lets you play with two types of virtual currency. You can get them both through various free bonuses.

Gold Coins are the regular currency at SweepShark. They are only used for playing games and can’t be withdrawn or redeemed for prizes. You can also buy more GC if you want.

Super Coins are the promotional currency. You can’t buy them, only get them through free promotions. When you win SC through games, it can be redeemed for prizes including gift cards or cash transfers. 

As it doesn’t offer real money gambling, SweepShark doesn’t have or require a license from a state gambling commission. Instead, it operates under sweepstakes laws.

The SweepShark menu of games consists of slots, slots and more slots. There are 1,018 of them to be precise, but none of the other types of games that sometimes appear at sweepstakes casinos: classic table games like blackjack and roulette, live dealer games, or arcade-style games. 

If a more well-rounded gaming experience is what you’re after, you won’t get it at SweepShark. If slots are your thing, you’re in heaven. 

In fact, SweepShark has immediately jumped into position as one of our favorite casinos for slots. The huge menu is just one reason for that, but the other is in how that menu is presented. 

Sometimes, when a casino has over a thousand games, we find ourselves just scrolling through a seemingly endless list and feeling a little lost. SweepShark clearly understands this and has designed an extremely easy to use interface, broken down into different categories 

You can filter by game mechanics, like Megaways, Cascading and Hold’N’Spin, use the search bar to type in specific games, see games from specific software providers, and save your favorites for later by clicking the little heart icons.

However our favorite feature was the Collections, which group slots around a certain theme. Examples include Asian, Wild Wild West and Diamonds. 

All of these organizational decisions made it especially easy and fun to jump into the slots at SweepShark.

The games at SweepShark come from 13 top software providers, including both big names like Evoplay and Booming Games and smaller companies like N2. We also liked how you can filter by provider, and you can see the number of games from each one at a glance in the menu.

Even though you can buy Gold Coins at SweepShark, it’s entirely optional. In our experience, you can get more than enough GC and SC through the various free promotions on offer to sustain your gaming over time.

We were happy to see that PayPal is available at SweepShark, which isn’t especially common at sweepstakes casinos. You can also use Visa or Mastercard, plus Apple Pay if you use mobile.

It’s a solid selection, missing only bank transfers and cryptocurrency among other popular methods. Many social casinos let you use Skrill, but it’s not a huge deal here given the addition of PayPal. 

The range of GC purchase options is extensive too, although in an ideal world we’d like to see a lower priced package added of around $1 or $2. 

We went for the $24.99 welcome offer for our first purchase, which was nice and smooth using our Visa card. 

As for prize redemptions, we don’t like SweepShark’s policy that caps the number of SC you redeem from free bonuses at 25 SC. By “free bonuses”, the casino effectively means anything apart from GC purchases. It feels designed to force people to make a purchase, which is a bad look for a free social casino.

Our actual experience with redemptions was positive however, with a PayPal transfer arriving in our account after a couple of days. Gift cards typically arrive much sooner, in 24 hours or less.

Yes, we’re happy to state that SweepsShark is a safe social casino. It appears to have a largely positive reputation online so far, with the only caveat being a fair amount of pushback on the 25 SC redemption limit from free bonus SC we’ve mentioned before. While we hate this rule too, we will defend SweepShark slightly by saying that it’s not really a scam or a trick, just a rule that players (rightly) dislike. 

To get KYC verified at SweepShark, you need to buy a GC package. This is another rule that pushes players towards purchases, but at least the casino is being thorough with verification. SSL encryption is used to protect player data. 

The games all come from legit software providers, with established reputations in the industry, who use certified RNG technology. 

Finally, we loved the responsible gaming tools at SweepShark. You don’t need to contact support in order to set up purchase limits, Reality Check notifications, or request a Cool-Off break or self exclusion. The dashboard-style tools make it easy to customize your experience right from your Account settings. 

Legal Status of SweepShark Casino 

SweepShark is a sweepstakes casino with a free-to-lay model. When you use GC, you are playing in social mode with no prizes up for grabs. When you use SC, you can redeem your winnings for prizes. 

You can’t use real money to bet on any of the games, or make deposits and withdrawals like a regular, real money casino. For this reason, it doesn’t need a gambling license.

One thing missing at SweepShark is a detailed FAQ page which gives some basic info about the site. Although we’d like to see this added, we’re still giving SweepShark a great customer support casino rating thanks to its live chat. 

We spent a total of 14 hours exploring every inch of SweepShark, from signing up for the first time to requesting prize redemptions, and our experience was largely very positive, with a couple of caveats. Let’s recap.

This is a perfect casino for slot players. We are huge fans of the fun underwater theme and the layout of the site, especially the creative themed gaming categories. The selection of bonuses and promotions is excellent, from the consistent Daily Catch promo to the multiplayer Shark League tournaments. We appreciated the excellent live chat support. 

In terms of drawbacks, the lack of other games apart from slots means that SweepShark will be too one-note for some players. 

However our biggest criticism is definitely the 25 SC limit on redemptions for all SC acquired through free bonuses. It’s a mean rule, that is only going to confuse and annoy players, and ultimately is designed to force players to buy GC. It devalues the excellent range of promos, and we hope SweepShark changes it in the future.
