The promotions at Zonko stood out to us the most. With daily bonuses, Missions, slot tournaments and an intricately designed VIP program, we always felt like there was a lot to do at this sweepstakes casino — that’s before we even got to the games. The lineup consists of slots exclusively, and it includes lots of the top software providers around, like NetEnt and Habanero.

Banking and prize redemption are areas where Zonko could use some work, though. You can only use bank cards for purchases, and the verification process was a bit more awkward than we’re used to. We also didn’t get any SC on sign-up, and we missed having live chat support.

Zonko hasn’t been around for that long, and you can tell. It felt to us like a platform still finding its feet in the industry: in some ways, it really stacks up against other top sweep sites (like its range of promotions), but in others, it definitely falls short (like the lack of banking flexibility).

There are a total of 519 games at this place, all different types of slots. Although we missed the variety of tables and live games, all the most popular slot types are covered here. The range of software providers is impressive too, pretty much a who’s who of the best studios around at the moment.

We were disappointed to receive only 3,000 GC when we signed up, with no SC included in the welcome bonus. When we opened our first daily bonuses (which, by the way, come in the form of mystery treasure chests), we were also disappointed to receive only 100 GC. 

Zonko’s real welcome bonus is actually its first purchase offer. For $20, you can get a package that includes:

It’s a great offer, considerably better than most first purchase bonuses we’ve seen. However, most casinos do include SC as a no deposit bonus, which Zonko does not.

Things get better for regular players. There are tons of bonuses and promotions happening all the time at Zonko, from slot tournaments to Missions. You’ll collect Stars as you play, which help you progress in the VIP program and can be cashed in for scratchcards and mystery prizes in the Store.

Zonko hasn’t been around long enough to really build up much of a reputation in the industry, but we haven’t heard any complaints so far. 

How Does Zonko Casino Work? 

Zonko is a free social casino that also supports sweepstakes gaming. You can’t deposit or withdraw money the way you do at a regular online casino. Instead, all the games can be played for free, using either Gold Coins or Sweepstakes Coins.

If you just want to play free games without redeeming prizes, stick to Gold Coins. They are only good for gaming and can’t be used for prize redemptions or traded for SC, no matter how many you win. You can buy Gold Coins if you want, but you’ll also get them for free in lots of ways. 

Sweepstakes Coins are what you’ll need to use if you’re aiming for prizes. You can’t buy SC; you can only get them for free through different kinds of promotions, like when you purchase the welcome bonus package. You can redeem the SC you win for prizes, starting with 100 SC for $100. 

This means that Zonko falls outside the laws governing real-money gambling sites. It doesn’t have a gambling license and instead operates under laws governing promotional sweepstakes. 

Zonko is pretty great if you like slots. Otherwise? Not so much.

Every single one of the 519 games in their library is a slot game, ranging from all-timers like Starburst from NetEnt to newer releases like King of the Streets from Slotmill. 

Pretty much everything you could want from a slot casino is here. That goes for specific game mechanics — like Megaways, Hold & Wins, cascading reels, and more — but also for themes and design. During our tests, we spent time voyaging through Saharan Africa (Elephant Stampede), chilling with celestial beings (Zeus Lightning Power Reels), and sampling tacos (Extra Chili). 

We tested out the lineup using both our laptop and via the mobile site (Zonko doesn’t have a downloadable app), and the quality and performance held up every time. The entire game library is available using your phone, too. 

There are some smart categories that make the menu easier to browse, like the “Hand Picked For You” lineup, which updates based on what you’ve been playing. Even though the size doesn’t match up with some casinos, like WOW Vegas, which has over 2,000 games, Zonko definitely hits all the marks for slots fans. 

On the downside, there are no live games, table games, or variety games, all of which are available at many other sweeps casinos, like Stake or Hello Millions. If you’re hoping to play blackjack or roulette along with slots, Zonko doesn’t fit the bill.  

There isn’t a definitive list of software providers at Zonko, but we counted around 20 during our research. It’s a great number for a menu of just over 500 games, providing tons of variety and lots of new styles and formats to explore. 

Huge names like NetEnt mean you’ll find old reliables from the world of real money slots, like the Gonzo’s Quest series. Other providers specialize in certain types of games, like the dark, horror-inspired game from No Limit Wins.

However, if you want, you can buy additional Gold Coins. If you can do so, you’ll get some free Sweepstakes Coins as a bonus. 

Unfortunately, our banking experience at Zonko was average. The casino exclusively accepts bank cards for purchases, plus Google Pay and Apple Pay on compatible devices. Given that most casinos provide at least one or two alternative payment methods, like e-wallets or crypto, Zonko felt restrictive by comparison. The cheapest package is $10, which is also much larger than usual. At McLuck, you can buy GC for $1.99.

That said, we didn’t actually run into any issues using our Mastercard, and our purchase went through instantly.

We also had some issues with redemptions. You need to win at least 100 SC to receive a $100 cash prize sent to your bank account. This limit is also higher than we’re used to, especially since there are no gift card prizes at lower rates.

However, our main issue is that Zonko doesn’t let you complete the verification process (required to redeem a prize) until you have already won at least 100 SC. This causes unnecessary delays, as it can take additional days for your documents to be verified.

Yes, Zonko is a safe place to play. It meets all the requirements for a legit sweepstakes casino, including verifying users’ identities before they can redeem a prize and allowing them to request additional SC by mailing a handwritten request.

The site uses very strong ECDSA encryption to protect all stored information. Although the banking options are limited, it’s a good sign that you can use legit credit cards like Mastercard and Visa, which wouldn’t process payments for shady organizations.

You can also set up purchase limits by emailing customer support to help you manage your spending, as well as request temporary or permanent breaks from your account. 

Legal Status of Zonko Casino 

Zonko operates legally under sweepstakes laws. Since it doesn’t offer real money gambling, it doesn’t need a gambling license in the same way as actual online casinos like BetMGM or Caesars.

Customer support is another area that drags down Zonko’s overall casino rating, unfortunately. 

There are just two resources for players who run into issues: a short FAQ section or emailing the casino at [email protected]. 

We counted just 14 FAQs in total, all in one list without being broken up into different sections or categories. Worse still, a lot of the information is frustratingly vague. For instance, one says the prizes you can win include “cash, gift cards, electronics, and other exciting rewards”, which sounds exciting. However, in reality, only cash prizes are available, which was eventually confirmed to us via email.

All the top sweepstakes casinos in 2026 have live chat support, and that was sorely missing here. Without it, we spent more time than we’d like during our Zonko review waiting around for an email response to questions that could have been answered instantly at other sites.

After spending a total of 14 hours over a couple of weeks kicking the tires at Zonko, it’s clear to us that this casino is still in the early stages of its development. We found enough positives to keep us interested, but there are definitely some areas that need to be improved to compete with superior casinos. Let’s recap.

The two areas that stand out are the banking process and customer support. At the moment, both feel underdeveloped, as if Zonko has done just enough to get the casino off the ground, but not enough to actually provide a convenient experience for its users. We want to see live chat added, more payment methods and a smoother KYC process.

As for positives, if you’re looking for a mid-sized menu of diverse slots, from some of the best providers in the business, Zonko fully provides that. We loved the range of ongoing promotions too, including Missions and collecting Stars, which keeps the overall experience interesting and exciting. 

We’re happy to give Zonko credit for the positives and keep an eye on how it progresses in those other areas.
