$100,000 win

That's right, the title says it all!

I could not believe my luck. I deposited $50 in the hope of a little bit of excitement and came out with over $100K.

For those that want to know all the gory details here goes:

I played a few hands of Blackjack (which, bu the way, I am no expert) and won about $5 (boring so far right?) but wait there's more.

So then I switched to some roulette, won about $4 (I think, that part is a little hazy), got bored with that after 5 spins and moved on.

Now it was time for some Jacks or Better. Another few hands in there and I lost a little (about $5).

So wait where is the big win you ask? Okay, okay, I am coming to that, just stay with me.

Anyhow, then I switch to Keno for a spell and played about 10 rounds and got lucky with a win of $2500 from a $5 bet. "Yes!" I thought, this game is running hot so I continued with $10 bets. Played some more, nothing significant comes up. I change my numbers to a different set of "lucky" numbers. Played some more, a few wins, a few losses, all small. And then it happened ... I had 15 numbers picked and watched as each and every one of the 15 were covered by a star. This was the one, a payout of 10000 to 1 and I had a $10 bet. A maximum possible win of $100,000 :)

What are the odds on that happening? 1000,000 to 1 I would expect! Perhaps more?

I called everyone over to see what had just happened. My friend told me how to capture the screen with the "print screen" button and then how to save it on disk. So I did that. I just could not believe my luck. $50 turned into over $100,000 in less than an hour.

But then it suddenly hit me that perhaps all was not well. I have seen how others have struggled to get big wins out of these online casinos. I hope and hope that the casino will pay promptly.

So a question for those with more experience than me. Do Arcada Casino have a good history? The url is

. Any thoughts on this one?

Wow!!

Now I am off for a small celerbration. Not until I get my big cheque in the post will I start celerbrating for real.

Nigel

Oh no!

I just went back to try an win a little bit more (greedy eh?) and my account balance is now ZERO.

Should I be worried? Has my $50 now become $0 instead of $100K?

Time will tell, I hope to hear from the casino soon.....

Nigel

Congratulations, Nigel - hope you get paid!

Arcada is a CasinoAge/Gaming Logix powered casino and this is the first I have heard about a very high value jackpot like this on their casinos - can you indicate where the information on this is so that I can have a look at it?

BTW there's been another over $100K winner this weekend - today in fact. According to the Jackpot Madness site one Linda W cracked the new Treasure Nile jackpot at Riverbelle. This just days after a news release reporting that a prison attendant called Suzanne G had whacked the same progressive earlier in the week.

And that Jackpot Mania Rags to Riches of Crypto's is currently running at nearly $310 - now THAT"s the one to crack!

Thanks for the congrats jetset. If you are looking for the jackpot then click on the Keno and play for fun. Just pick anything from 1 to 15 numbers and depending on how much you bet and how many numbers match then you can win between 0 and 100,000.

One would presume you mean $310K right? And you are right that is certainly the one to crack, not the measly $100K that I won.

Nigel

Well so far nothing but silence from Arcada in my email box. I sent tham a friendly reminder just in case the first message did not get through.

A "wait and see" situation at the moment ...... :(

There you go, Nigel - get on the email and chase these guys. I take it you have received a cornfirmation from them that you have hit the bigtime and they owe you 100G's, right?

Thanks for the "who is" info opa_mary.

Jetset, I have received nothing so far from Arcada or Gaminglogix. I have e-mailed both of them and received deafening silence. Although I assume they know about the win since my account has been set to zero$. Other than that I have absolutely nothing.

I will keep e-mailing them every so often in the hope of receiving some sort of reply. In my last e-mail all I asked for was a simple "hi, we exist" reply but it seems they were not even bothered to press their "reply" button!

Next time I will include the Tech contact in the e-mail recipients.

Thanks for jogging my memory - you're right I had an exchange with Gaming Logix of Montreal, Canada a few weeks back regarding the gambling software on their Lucky-winners and Arcada casinos which are registered in Costa Rica (so don't hold your breath for any backup from the authorities there!).

They had claimed the following:

"Gaminglogix is a software developer and licensor of ITS OWN
<, <,<, SOFTWARE, based in MONTREAL Canada. We provide our clients with a
<, <,<, turnkey package including processing, support, etc.. through our
<, <,<, various STRAGEGIC ALLIANCES, ie. I safe Net out of CR, surefire
<, <,<, commerce out of Canada, and ecash services out of canada,
<, ETC....."

However the games were Java and Gambling Software Systems (always a big red flag!) aka Garrinck out of Seattle and so I raised five queries with them regarding their association or lack thereof with GSS, the software origins, e-cash and so on.

I think they answered two of them and strongly denied any connection with GSS whatsoever (but didn't comment on Garrinck) In the process they had some pretty uncomplimentary things to say about the OPA and I tried to put them right on that - I don't think with very much success.

The guy I had the exchange with was called Sam Mansour.

I believe they have a connection with CasinoAge as well.

I've been making an attempt to get this casino to respond using several related email addresses. No response yet, but no bounced mail (always a good sign).

I also address this in this week's radio show at Casinogazette https://www.casinogazette.com Channel 1.

If they don't come through I'll do a piece on my next webcast and add it to the news flashes my company sends out to clients.

This is starting to smell a little...surely a bona fide 100K jackpot publicity opportunity would not be allowed to go to waste by a casino?

I still have no response from anyone.

I sent yet another e-mail today asking for a reply.

It is quite frustrating how this casino has decided to be totally unresponsive. They are really doing themselves disservice by being like this.

From now I will be stepping up my rate of e-mails to them.

BTW thanks for the support from all of you here at casinomeister, I really appreciate it.

Nigel

As I'm writing this little message, Bob Dylan's "Rainy Day Women-Everybody must Get Stoned" shuffles it's way into the night air and the irony or coincidence is staggering,at least to me that is...
In an unregulated industry, one that's infested with scavengers of fortune and greed, how anyone can be suprised at being scammed is beyond me.
I've travelled through this industry in these last couple of years and the people (I use that term loosely) that I've met along the way, brought shivers down my spine...
Folks, most of these casino operators are only in it for the short haul...
They don't care how many people they scam along the way, cause they know that by the time that they're exposed, they've already lined their pockets with enough cash to consider themselves winners!
But don't worry folks, the government is on it's way and then we'll really see some serious scamming...

Lesson number 1. How to use the delete button.

I also have no bounce notifications, so I know that if I send my e-mail to them over 200 times that they will have received every single one of them.

Now it will surely be easier to press the "REPLY" button once than it is to press the "DELETE" button 200+ times.

Right? Or am I missing something?

100kwinner, after couple a months with the OPA I must say you're a little optimistic (they don't have to use the "delete" but just not to check their mail - I tried this once with Tropika...) BUT the good news are: if nothing works there's always Steve here to save you - isn't that great?
(never misses chances to flatter you, Steve...)

Yeah, I tried them all, info - sam - abanek and support. All got me the exact same response - zero - even though nothing was bounced back to me.

I guess I have been ripped off :( Sometimes life is a bitch.

PS: Any chance of changing my username to 50buckloser?

I just tried logging in again to see if anything has changed and something HAS changed.

Now instead of the system telling me my balance is $0 I get the following message instead:

------------------------------------
Sorry, You Cannot Login To The Banking Page At This Time.

Please Contact Customer Support
------------------------------------

HA HA, contact customer support? Been there, tried that!

Don't give in yet, Nigel.

Are you an OPA member? If you are this persistent ignoring of your emails by management is sufficient justification for you to submit a complaint and start waking these guys up.

What about the portals and other (maybe watchdog) links on their site - most of these are pretty useless but when 100K is at stake it's worth trying them all.

In the meantime I'll try that gaminglogix email address I had - maybe they will react to a different persona.

Did you try that phone and fax number I gave you?

Thanx doubler and jetset, I tried all the phone numbers, they are always engaged. I tried to find the number in the white pages reverse lookup but it does not exist, it must be one of those redirecting numbers that dials some other country (like Costa Rica for example).

I never tried that guy in Oz, somehow I expect he is an innocent party, but if things still get nowhere after another few days I'll give him a call and see what he can make of it. Ya never know perhaps I could convince him to shut down arcada's portion of the name server :)

The e-mail box is full, give it a go anyway jetset, but somehow I expect you will get it bounced back to you.

And I ain't giving up yet, I was just trying to face facts, I won't give up until either of two things happen 1. they go out of business or 2. I get paid.

Nigel, as jetset suggested I guess it's time to join the OPA, file a formal complaint and start using the secret weapon - Steve!

I was inspired by jetset not receiving a bounce and sent another message to test the system. Sure enough no bounce this time.

I hope this is a good sign, it means that someone is clearing the mail box at least. But even so, still no reply in my mailbox. Quite un-surprising really.

Still no response from these people but it is the weekend and being software/turnkey folks they may only work week days. I'm fired up on this now so I'll stay on their backs.

Here's a thought. What about an avalanche of emails from posters here telling both gaminglogix and arcada to honor their obligations? Create a little more pressure?

And Nigel, did you lodge a complaint with Gambling Grumbles yet? If these people are crooked (and it is beginning to look very much as if they are) then they will definitely not enjoy the spotlights on them from all directions, and other players can be warned about them.

I had a looksee and opened up the grumbles page a couple of days ago. One of the conditions says about waiting three weeks. I didn't want to look foolish and be told to wait 2 more weeks before submitting again.

But not to worry, this will keep. Once three weeks pass then I will jump in there again.

Nigel, pop on over to Jerry's place. He might have some more contact info and I know he'd be interested in your story. Tell'im I sent you.

By the way, just FYI:

The odds of you picking 15 numbers (out of 15) is on the order of 400 billion to 1. Kind of makes the payout look shabby, no?

I went over to Jerry's place but I was not sure where to post any sort of report. I eventually found the "submit a site" and typed a little something in there.

Wow, really 400 billion! Thems big numbers!

Dear all,

There is something rotten here. This casino obviously is aware of what is happening, yet they fail to respond to this issue. I have emailed them numerous times without a courtesy response, which is most alarming if not downright unprofessional.

This is another typical case of a casino hiding its head in the sand hoping its problems will go away. Well they (the problems) won't go away. I plan to place these guys in our "rogue" section by the end of the day if I don't hear anything. The "rogue" section, by the way, is the most popular section of casinomeister besides the forum, getting up to sometimes 1000 visitors a day. And of course there is always our newsletter and radioshow at Casinogazette.com

~b

I agree - something is not right here. I too am giving gaminglogix until the end of today to respond after which they can look forward to quite a lot of action - but not the sort that they are likely to enjoy.

Still no reply from the casino in my mailbox. It has been 7 days now. I think that rogue sounds like a very fitting term.

But actually folks perhaps they may have just simply omitted to post in their T&C's that "all winnings will be multiplied by zero to arrive at the full payment amount" :)

The good news is that I have a response from the software provider as follows:

Attn: Jetset and Admin

Sam Mansour from the company then goes on to apologise and note that he has been away on holiday.

The usual "we're not responsible for our licencees" but the saving comment that they will investigate as it is in their interests to do so.

He requests that Casinonmeister and I hold off on any negative "strings" until the matter is sorted out.

This is my response:

I would have thought that a software provider would have an auto-responder.
In the event there is now a player suffering severe nervous anxiety because
not one person from either Arcada Casino or your company has even had the
courtesy to congratulate him on his big win let alone ackowledge it.

I would like to see the detail of this jackpot. Is it administered through
yourselves and available on any Gaming Logix casino, for example or is it
solely organised and confined to Arcada? Is it a sum of money held on float
or is it guaranteed in some other way?

The fact that the casino has studiously refused to respond is supicious to
say the least.

Your comment that "...it is in our interest to investigate this matter and
any other matter pertaining to any of our licensee's sites" is accurate.
Software providers in this sort of situation can very quickly lose the trust
and confidence of players and there is a need to move quickly and decisively
in addressing this problem with one of your licencees.

In the meantime I do not intend to pull any comments already out there until
I see some sign that something "professional" is being done about this.

This issue is covered in my next CasinoGazette show going up shortly on Channel 3.

Strange that they chose to repsond to you jetset. I have received nothing at all.

I did manage to talk to Sam on the phone about 6 hours ago. He told me the same thing: "he is looking onto the matter" and I could not draw him make any more comment than that.

But at least SOMEONE is talking. Lets hope for their sake that they can come up with the goods.

Needless to say, this casino was placed in our "rogue" section yesterday.

And isn't it ironic that I get a spam message this morning from one of their affiliates to indulge in one of their bonuses?

~b

I think they are communicating because the noise level is being turned up on them.

We need to track down any other casinos they have as licencees, too.

Also - take a look at the WOL message board where there is a thread running on these Gaming Logix people and where some interesting new information about them and their operations is unfolding. I can't post it here right now as I don't yet have the posters' permission to do so.

Thanks for the help jetset, I am going to need it, the OPA have decided not to help on this one after I wrote to Sam and asked that all correspondence on the matter also be directed to me. Seems the OPA want to be the only ones to receive e-mail about this!

Come on OPA, don't sulk because I want to be kept in the loop. I think it is my right to be kept up to date.

Nigel, it has been the experience of OPA mediators in the past that it doesn't do any good to try to work out a deal with a casinos while the casinos is also getting bashed by the player. It gives the casinos the opportunity to try to weasel out with "but he said" excuses.

It's a practical issue, not about sulking.

100K Winner - this informative posting is from one of the guys at WOL:

"To begin with, Lucky Winners is dormant for now. We did a great deal of due diligence into this site, there doesn't appear to be anything that can be done to give the owners confidence in putting money into promoting the site. It may still be open for wagers, but for now, they are just pushing it aside and will perhaps come back to it at a later time. If anyone has had any problems at this particular casino, let me know and I can look into it.

Jetset, I do not know the guy you mentioned in Montreal, but here is someone you should look into. The owner of the company that sold the Lucky Winners site, and most likely Arcada too (I don't think they were sold under Gaming Logix - they used Casino Age which may have a different staff) is Peter Baron. He owns some company called Papco, but I am not certain if that company is in any way affiliated or not.

Anyway, here's the interesting thing. The night before I left for Vegas, the owner of Lucky Winners called me and told me he had just spoken to this Mr. Baron guy. He said that his initial contact was some other guy who only wanted to discuss things by email, and who later referred him to Peter Baron, although he thinks they were one in the same guy.

An interesting thing about this PB is that he always says he is going to be in some far off location and will be unreachable. Last week it was South Africa, but they actually tracked him down and called him at his home in Boca Raton, FL, which caught him off guard I am sure. Sounds like a very shady character to me, but there's more.

When the owner called me that night, he said that during the conversation, Baron said that he was selling out to another company as of August 14. He would release no information on who the new owner was or what the plans were for the business, which I found to be very strange, considering he was talking to a client who was entitled to know who he would be doing business with in two weeks.

I am almost tempted to say that this is just a slick maneuver to try to scam this $100k winner, and whoever else is floating around on the net disappointed. But then, there is not enough information to make a claim like that, so I suppose we will just have to wait and see what happens.
