I voted yes simply because I exclusively play at accredited or their associated sites, which tend to have reasonable WR's.
I have seen some offers that I wouldn't touch though.

It's also worth mentioning that we assume that the terms have been read before taking the SUBs and there are no restrictive cahsout limits on the winnings.

I had to vote "Yes, regularly" because there was not a "Yes, always" option.

I always take the sign-up bonus at every new casino I play; If a casino's welcome bonus is rubbish, I don't play there at all.

KK

I voted "Very occasionally" because most times I drop $200+
Can't see the point of taking a bonus, which limits not only when I can withdrawal but also my game play too.

If a bonus is credited automatically, I contact support (live chat or phone) and have it removed before commencing play. On the times when it's a nightmare to have the bonus removed, I play it. If I win great, if not I unistall the casino, because imo a player shouldn't jump hoops to have a bonuses removed. I beleive the practical option of depositing then asking if a player wants a bonus or not is the right thing to do. Just assuming a player will accept it, is wrong.

'more often than not'

Taking the dep bonus also allows me to get a feel for support, since I verify the Tc and Cs of the promo with live chat.
These days, my budget isn't as limited, so I've the recent luxury of playing straight up deposits and not as concerned with the play-time. Hard to say, almsot 50/50, but more I'd guess. I like the few 100% bonuses, but mostly just chuck the straight 100 in now after the sub

Sign up bonuses are generally designed to show the casino in the best light, and thus, the wager requirements are pretty low as well as other restrictions being reduced or eliminated, such as max cashouts or bet-size limitations. So I will generally take those even though I, again, generally don't play with regular bonuses which have far more restrictions.

I chose never. I never take bonuses since I don't like to having my money being locked into some wagering requirement. I'm known for kamikaze betting and would probably be bonus banned if I ever took them. :p

If I play with bonus my game is different. I play a lot of BJ and if the cards are with me I bet very high, also with Baccarat. My highest bet online was 1500 Euros, with two sucsessfull bets I made 3000 in seconds. With a bonus I can`t play this style. There are to many restrictions. You really have to look to a casino with no bonus restrictions. I found one, and I`m happy with it. Of course I pay more in than I paid out. But it`s nice to see that there are Casinos around without restrictions.

reply to poll

I play with them , but they are useless, as far as ever making any money from them. They are just to introduce new sites.

It says I voted ,Voters: 85. You have already voted on this poll, I must have voted yes because I like to get a fel of the casino/software /etc

I said never.

Most likely the main reason is I think I have signed up at just about every casino out there (for USA players anyway) Therefore, there are no "sign-up" bonuses left.....haha

I just don't like the wagering attached to any of them.

I do take the occasional freebie just to see if I can make wagering. Almost never happens but fun trying!

The results have surprised me a bit to be honest. I see bonuses as a hurdle but clearly 2/3rds of players still see them as profitable, despite today's WR.

I play them as it is what is expected. I do not play them because I believe they are profitable. In fact, I try NOT to play too well with the SUB as this can give the first impression to the casino that I am just going to milk the SUB and then bugger off. It would mean I never get to see what is on offer beyond the SUB, which is far more important when deciding which 10Gig casinos get to live on my PC, and which don't. If casinos throw everything at the SUB, and then take loyalty for granted after that, it's the trigger that gets them uninstalled from my PC.

I have seen that most arguments about "bonus abuse" are over the SUB, where the terms are also more restrictive than for ongoing offers. Take 32Red and the 6.25 max bet, it only applies for the SUB, not once you have shown loyalty and are offered ongoing boni.

I find the SUBs more practical at MG sites. I always take them and find that about 50% of the time I can meet WR. If you are trying to get the features activated on TSII and IR TFROL etc. they can be useful to grind through on low stakes. As VWM said it's also what comes after. You often find that the SUB is the last time you'll see anything over 30-50% bonus-wise on most MG sites.

It depends on the casino as well as terms and conditions. If there is a higher percentage chance of me cashing out with winnings over deposit with bonus I will. However, I make sure to have my scientific calculator next to me to compute it, also depends on the amount of joining bonus as well as continued bonuses and what they consist of as well as what is playthrough amount. I very rarely use bonuses due to high playthrough amounts.

I tried all sorts of bonuses and I have to say: NO
Never again I play with a bonus. You have more money for sure but you make higher bets.
Above all it changed my playstyle. And with this change I lost more. I quit with bonuses and now I`m lucky again.

Cheers:D

I picked 'pretty much never' ... mostly because I haven't signed up at a new casino in years. LOL OH... I did sign up at the Sloto Rival this year... but I can't remember if they had a SUB as I could never make a deposit go through anyway.

Very occasionally here as I just don't like to be stuck on any bonus.
The big WR on them puts me off.
Thinking hitting a good win but have to play through the WR makes me shiver.

I use them when my funds are low,and I want to extend my playtime rather then make a profit out of them.
Mostly for Netent sessions. ;)

I will accept subs, but generally only if they are small with lower waging requirement, I have won good money from these (good for me anyway 100), especially with 888, the crazy large ones of 200 or more I will accept, but only generally for fun or to get a good feel for the games I will like, some times use these to test the pay out levels for games/sites. I am in the process of a dispute with one site over winnings from free money, they are very reluctant to pay up even though I met there wagering requirements, and policies, they don't like paying up from free money.

i do if wr is reasonable and there are no cashout restrictions,,hate it when my money is locked after adecent win and i still havent reached wr also hate it if i play thru wr and have a decent balance above cashout limit due to said bonus.. accredited casinos are pretty fair tho

Yes, I ALWAYS claim SUBs. I have to admit that I'm a bit of a...ermmmm (I hope I'm using the right term here)...."bonus whore"?

I also have to admit that perhaps claiming a bonus is not always the best thing for me. For example, I have twice made £300 deposits on Allslots (with 100% match bonus). On both occasions, I got my initial balance of £600 up to just over £975 (never quite hit the magic four figure amount). But unfortunately, my bonus was nowhere fully cleared. By the time the bonuses had cleared (on both occasions), I had dropped to well under my initial deposit of £300. And then ultimately, gone busto

On another occasion, I got a huge first deposit bonus at Casino Tropez (deposit £70, bonus £250) and built it up to £2,000 (along the way I hit a £1,200 spin on Iron Man after getting a fully stacked wild on reels 2,3 and 4 along with an Iron Man in the centre of both reels 1 and 5 - which meant I got 6 x Iron Man 5OAKs @ £200 each on a £1 bet - basically only the Marvel progressive jackpot could have paid more). That one spin took me up to £1,750 and even after that it continued to deliver nice wins - including a 5 scatters win (of £200 I think). Obviously I wanted to cash out but could not as the bonus was barely 40% cleared. And then I just went on a week-long downward spiral. The slots that were winning me money on the way up to that £2k (Iron Man, Daredevil, Atlantis Queen and Sultans Gold) started to play badly...really badly. By the time I had realised my "feeling of invincibility" had well and truly worn off, most of the damage had been done (a valuable lesson learned there - never feel invincible even when you're killing the slots). On reflection, I should have set a point where if I dropped below x£ , then I go to grind mode to protect my sizeable profit. I didn't do that and fell into the trap of wanting to get the bonus cleared ASAP when it would have been much more prudent to drop the bet sizes. By the time the bonus had cleared (I kept tabs on it regularly), I was down to....£60 :( And that £60 soon went the same way the other £1,940 had gone. A bit of an anti-climactic downer in the end, but it was a helluva ride on the way up :)

I'm going to continue to take advantage of SUBs (with new casinos that I have yet to try) and percentage match bonuses (with ones that I already play at)...but perhaps I need to have a re-think on the size of my deposits (and therefore the size of the bonuses) as the bonuses have ultimately prevented me from withdrawing while in good profit on a few occasions. Perhaps I would be better served taking bonuses no greater than £100 (I have successfully cleared a £100 bonus and also a £77 bonus and withdrawn while in profit before). But that is something for me to figure out....and the quicker the better :)

Apologies for the length of the post. I have too much to say sometimes :)

Yes, I do play with bonuses regularly, not just sign-up bonuses but bonuses in general. I can usually play through the wagering requirements pretty quickly. Oddly enough, both times I've played using no deposit bonuses at 3Dice, I won a significant amount of money and all of the times I played using money I deposited, I lost rather quickly. I sometimes use the random bonuses to play at Royal Ace, Silver Oak, Slot Madness and Slots of Vegas but when I do win from them, I just play until I lose because I don't want to bother going through what may be a lengthy withdrawal process (although I did read the post about this group of casinos getting their act together and being on probation for 6 months before they are voted off the rogue list on CM so maybe I will try actually withdrawing my winnings from a NDB one of these days just to see how long it takes for the withdrawal to process).

The only casino I will deposit my money into are 3Dice and iNetBet. If I feel the need to satisfy my craving for gambling without having to risk my own money, the free bonuses are always a good way to go for me. =)

As long as they stick to 20-30x MAX ROLLOVER.... AND NO MAX CASHOUT, I WILL PLAY... THE REST OF THE TIME IS A WASTE... Slots Jungle, who SUCKS at paying quickly, and they pay 500 or 1500 at a time, I have made probably 30 k and deposited maybe 10 tops in my life time... I win on them more often than any other one and consistantly... BUT THE CASH OUT PROCESS KEEPS ME FROM PLAYING EM AS OFTEN AS I SHOULD... I play All Star, Lucky Red, and High Noon, and they just seem TO SUCK THE LIFE OUT OF MY CASH EVERYTIME... I mean, I get up maybe 10% of starting amount, NO MATTER WHAT THE AMOUNT IS, and hit maybe 1 bonus round per 50 to 100 lost playing at .80 to 1.40 a pull... Yea, that tough... Are WEEKENDS turned up a notch to take money faster than weekdays???

Bonuses must help the player because after a while, SLOTS JUNGLE BANNED ME FROM ANY BONUSES, AND THEN AFTER A YEAR, THEY LET ME BACK WITH THEM BUT AT 50x..... FUOOOOOK That NOOOOOISSSSEEEE!!

I rarely take sign up bonuses as I'm mainly a blackjack player. I've had many cases where I took a matched bonus for my deposit and won around 5x my balance but never used my bonus funds, however I was still locked from withdraws until I met the play through requirements.

If you're playing slots with a good payout % then I would take the bonus, other wise I would not advise doing so. It would also depend on the requirement, i.e 30x / 40x.

sign up bonuses:

I voted yes, if I see a new casino that offers a new member signup bonus I check it out and I will try the casino.;);

It's Always Nice To Be Asked

I think it is always nice to be asked if you want a sign up or welcome bonus, not just have one given to you automatically. We all have our different preferences, and I appreciate a casino that understands and gives you the option to take advantage of whatever's on offer.

Yes, I almost always play with a SUB at online casinos and a few years back (when I was a dedicated bonus whore), the 'almost' didn't ever arise as welcome deposit offers were so profitable for me. Nowadays, with higher WR and worse promotional terms, I still tend to begin my playing experience at a particular place with a bonus but my cashout expectations are greatly reduced... along with my overall casino activity. Sometimes I'll even take on a new site (or different gaming/software section of one I already play at e.g. the 'games/vegas' or 'red/black' portal) without a deposit promo if I don't consider it worth playing or am specifically restricted by the terms.

Basically, I play much less than I used to before but now make most of the online casinos I currently pop into money, rather than the other way around. When I do occasionally win against the odds, I may find I'm no longer able to take up the EV- bonuses so kindly offered at some sites - which is fine by me as there are still many do-able promos elsewhere, or better places to play at even without them. I'll chime in here that players should be able to specifically opt in to any bonus beforehand - by clicking a prominently marked button/link, entering a promo code, claiming via support etc. - rather than having it added automatically upon depositing, unless there is also a clearly stated and easy way to opt out beforehand.

i play with & without i find casinos far better if you play this way , sometimes you get some very good offers instead of the normal ones had one the other week of upto 400% ( upto 800 )no max cashout & only 20 times play through , again this casino i play mixed ) thats a very good offer & should be good gaming time . anyway i voted yes.

I put 50/50.... it depends on the cashout T&Cs, if it's unreasonable I probably won't use the bonus. Same with regular bonuses, I use them off and on, depending on the cashout policy.
