I am playing the Lucky Nugget Casino and yesterday noticed they had a promotion running for 100 free spins on the Gift Rap slot. It is running for all the casinos in the BelleRock Group.

Today I called them to find out if I had met the requirements of the promotion, 1000 credits wagered, which I had. Then I asked how much would we be allowed to bet per spin. The tech had no clue and had to ask. He came back and said $.50 per line. That is the max bet on that slot.

I am wondering if the tech got it right because that is a huge amount to allow us to wager in 100 spins.

Anyway I will get an email on the 12th to let me know my spins are available so I will let you know if that is the actual amount allowed. Also, hopefully some screenshots of some wins. One can only hope.

I had this at Captain Cooks for another slot, but also RiverBelle is doing the free spins on Gift Rap.

It is down to a new feature that Microgaming have introduced to some of the slot games. Casinos can give a bonus as so many free spins at a fixed stake; all wins go into the bonus account. It is a bit like a big feature round. The free spins are played in the real account rather than a Flash insert.

To get them once allocated, just load the slot as if you were going to play it with your own money, you will then get a screen telling you that free spins have been added. You can play them straight away, or save them for later. The offer page will specify the stake per spin, and I expect that the 50c you were quoted was per SPIN, not per line, equivalent to a $50 bonus, but with a chance of more or less.

I have also played for this in RiverBelle, so I will see if it works as it should. All the BelleRock free spins expire after a week.

That is a complete joke - I haven't even received mine! This is also a misdescription, as they are not proper spins if only one line is used!

They have just ensured this new way of giving promotions has been completely discredited in the player community. Now when we see this again, anywhere, we will know that we will probably be screwed by the hype and find the actual award is a cheat! Worse, we were not allowed to know in advance the nature of this award, and CS even lied by suggesting a figure of 50c a spin (but said per line).

Even Casino Rewards did not stoop to this, and gave all lines in play.

$50 worth of spins for $1000 wagerd would be fair, $1 worth is a total rip-off. I will NOT be depositing a further 55 for next weeks one, and my next depoait will be wneh I am offered a proper bonus, not one of these "free spin" cons.

When I logged in to the casino and opened Gift Wrap, there was a screen informing me of the free spins having been awarded. The select lines and coin size buttons are disabled when you are in free-spin mode.

I went to live chat, and it was confirmed by a supervisor that this is no glitch: 1 cent 1 line is how it is.

I wagered over $3000 and received $1 free spins :eek2:

May I take the opportunity to nominate BelleRock for the Ebeneezer Scrooge award this year! This must surely be "no contest" - it is worse than giving nothing!

Such an award will ensure this does not happen again as no casino will want the embarrassement of the retelling of this tale for the rest of the year, and being used as the benchmark for next year's award!
 
It's not a full dollar, the EV is more like 90 cents.

Now, I ended up exploiting this fairly well (partly because of the mystery going in). I deposited $55, I wagered it all once on autoplay blackjack. Then I requested a cashout (I wont 8 bucks yay!).

I still got the free spins. Hilariously, I hit the pick'em feature 3x and won 25 cents on them! And then I hit a good four of a kind, total winnings were $2.49!

I then ran it up to 8.49 total on single deck blackjack ($6 cash balance). The minimum withdrawal is $20, so I deposited $105, wagered $55 on autoplay blackjack (to qualify for next week!). My net cashout from all of this was $109.50, which means I actually managed to come ahead $4.50 from the gift rap bonus. boo yah.

But yeah, 1 line by 1 cent is just a joke. Max lines at 1 cent was more what I was expecting. This makes Wild Jack's $12.50 worth of spins look like I just won the lottery.

There's still time to play again for next week's drawing, I know everyone is psyched :)

My results:
I hit the feature three times (for 5, 11, and 16 cents).
Total win $1.26, which carries a wagering requirement of $37.80.

By the way, here's a little nugget from the promos T&Cs:

Wahey, 1.07 win off of my free spins, nearly recouped all my loss (100) which I played through to meet the 1k wager requirement.

This is the conversation I had with live help at Lucky Nugget Casino. I cannot believe how misleading this promotion is and as I said to the tech it is rogue behavior! Oh I won a huge $.07. I don't think I will bother to play it! I will leave it there and let them figure out what to do with it!

Thanks for the laughs everyone. It has come down to this. The US pulls out of the online gambling market for the most part and the casinos have to give away pennies for our loyalty. Or maybe they simply don't care! Well for one I am never playing with that group again. That was deceitful and misleading to say the least. Specially when I made an extra effort to confirm the amount and the number of lines per spin!!!!! Damn me not making a screenshot of that conversation! :mad:

That is not only infuriating, that's downright insulting to players! I expected it would be $25 (100 spins @ max lines @ minimum bet).

Surely to goodness this is merely some weird Belle Rock SNAFU ... a $1 bonus is ridiculous!

Well... they won't have to worry about me entering the same promo that starts today! :mad:
 
You're right, they are probably pretty embarrased. Well, Just to let them know how I feel... I've uninstalled all BellRock casinos. If their promotions are going to be worth $1... they apparently don't need any of my money!! They should be able to afford that buck on their own!

you know, I was about to say "where did this 1000 wagering requirement come from?", but then I realized that I had ground though the WR too, (autoplay $1 hands of blackjack), I had just managed to squeak a small win about it.

But geeze, the expected loss from $1000 wagering of even a low edge game like BJ is around $3.5. The EV of those 100 spins at Gift Rap is about 95 cents of bonus balance, which only equates to 47 cents of real cashable balance if it's exploited well.

I think this might be the most minusest of minus EV bonuses evar.
 
Some of you were huge winners! $2.43 dang that is almost 250x your bet. I only won 7 freaking cents. What can I buy with seven cents? All it does is make an odd amount in my casino balance.

I just emailed riverbelle to let them know it is Christmas and not April fools. I'm sure they dont care but at least I let them know their promo is a joke IMO and I wont be trying to get the whopping $1 bonus this week.
I would like to think this was just and goof on someones part but i'm begining to think they did this on prupose. Merry F'n Christmas from your pals at River Belle. :thumbsup:

So much for any winnings are yours to keep!

Reversed £32 of my winnings so I could play 33 hands of BJ to clear my WR.

After 33 hands went back in to withdraw and only £3.30 of my balance is cleared, the BJ only counting 10% towards your WR still applies for this bonus!!!

I am boycotting River Belle and it will be removed from my machine after next weeks 100 spins (by which time I will probably have to turn over my £0.04 winnings 648.5 times exactly while unicycling the wrong way around the M25 while balancing a pint of lager on my head and doing the times crossword)

Away off to Paigow now cos at least that counts a reasonable % towards WR (67% I think)

I have emailed them in the past and they ALWAYS bypass my questions, like they have no idea what I'm talking about. Then they continue talking about something that has nothing to do with what I emailed them about in the first place.

I did however email them the other day and said if they were giving away Christmas free money that I would take some. :D

Hey, guys, the "winnings" go into the bonus account, which work just like any microgaming clearpay bonus. Bonus hustlers will be well familiar with it.

30x bonus requires on slots or american roulette to clear it.
60x on french roulette and some other high-edge games
And about a billion X wagering on blackjack.

The only thing that's even close to positive expectation is even-money bets on French roulette. But this is nearly break-even.

So the real use of it is to be "aggressive" (hope you have at least a buck!), and try to run that balance bonus up higher. Because any winnings on top of it are fully cashable.

Of course, you're going to be confronted with the minimum withdrawal of $50, but you can always deposit more money, then withdraw it all.

Seriously though, NOTHING can justify a $1 bonus that you have to wager $1000 credits to recieve. It's a total waste of time.
 
At first I thought this was a laughing matter but the more I think about it, the more I consider it borderline insulting.

I mean, you wouldn't dare to give anyone you know a $1 present, it just isn't done. Heck, I'd feel kinda cheap giving that amount to any street corner bum or homeless guy(if I do give, it's usually the equivalence of $3 or more FWIW).

Imagine being invited to an all you can eat and drink - lobster and wine party and "repaying" the favor with a soggy ice cream cone...

I don't care about the excuse they come up with (the CS supervisor already said the 1-cent/1-line thing was how they intended it).

But hopefully someone there has a brain and gives us a do-over with a reasonable number of coins & lines (i.e. 50 cents per spin).
