Hi Casinomeister members! We'd like your help on a new project.

We want to create a list of government and/or government promoted programs, or charities that exist to help people with gambling issues: from advice on cutting back a bit to dealing with gambling addiction.

That's where you lovely folks come in! Our members hail from all four corners of the globe, so if you have this info for the country you're in, or the countries you know, just post it below. This is especially helpful if it's not an English-speaking country!

Don't hesitate to contribute even if the country's already been mentioned by someone else.

Thanks everyone!

Update: I vet all the resources posted here and if they check out, I add them to my own research on the Responsible Gambling Directory page. If you are looking for gambling help or support, for yourself or someone close to you, please check that page out.

Thanks again for the contributions everyone! Keep them coming

[Max says: please post only relevant contributions. Off-topic and/or derailing posts will be moved or deleted.]

Site that offers help for problem gamblers face to face in Dublin and Waterford and via phone Nationwide in Ireland

This site is kind of a one-stop-shop that has many links which is less frustrating for those needing help. As far as I can tell all services are free of charge. IMHO

Free phone line: SOS SPELEN : 0800 / 35.777

And the exclusion form is to be found here:

Since Belgium is multilingual there's also info available in French and German which I should add.

The gambling help website can also be found in French right here:

There are also regional services for problem gamblers and addicts which can be found right here:

The (free) phone number operates in all 3 languages.

We're a complicated country

Wow this is great! This thread has only been up for 24 hours and look at how many contributions we've had! Thank you so much!

I'm gathering it all together, so at first glance, we have contributions for Sweden, Ireland, the UK, Netherlands, Ontario Canada and Belgium. If you see anything you think is missing there, feel free to post it.

There are still lots of other countries -- does anyone have anything for:
  • Finland
  • Norway
  • the US
  • Canada
  • Thailand
  • Vietnam
  • Philippines
  • Germany
  • India
These are just a few -- if you have info for any others, please don't hesitate to add them!

I've tracked down a couple for Finland (in Finnish and Swedish, and a little in English):

"Do you play too much?":

Anyone have anything for Germany, Russia, Spain, or any other country not already covered above?

Here's a free tool called

, created by a registered charity in the UK. It works on a wide variety of platforms and their database of online casinos is huge. You can also block gambling-related websites:

BetBlocker is a free tool to help you control your gambling. Install it on as many devices as you like and you can block yourself from accessing over 13434 gambling websites. You can select how long you want to be blocked for.

Quit Gamble . com
Global online platform to support people with gambling problems

[maxd says: this guy owns the company that owns QuitGamble so obviously he has an interest in promoting it.]

Anyone from the states this is a great resource on an addiction that can never be beaten but put in to total remission by taking the necessary steps in getting better, so if you’re a problem gambler like me here’s a great resource.
