ZetBet Casino Review

Strong licensing and a great set of responsible gambling tools

    Casinomeister's Verdict

ZetBet doesn’t leave an amazing first impression, but we’ve found a number of things to like about it. The casino supports a good set of deposit options, covering everything from debit cards and e-wallets to prepaid vouchers. They also have a bunch of useful responsible gambling tools and hold licenses from UK Gambling Commission and the Malta Gaming Authority. The game library is also decent, even if it is more modest than some competitors.

The most glaring issue with ZetBet, however, is the terrible browsing experience, and you can’t have that at a casino with thousands of games. The live chat also has limited working hours, which may affect some people, and it doesn’t make the UX better. Finally, we haven’t had the best complaints experience with this operator (Aspire Global), but it remains to be seen how they will fare in the future.

All in all, ZetBet doesn’t raise any red flags that might turn players away from the get-go, but we still recommend caution and a careful combing of terms, just to be safe. See our full ZetBet casino review below, and remember to share your experience in the forum if you play here.

ZetBet is in the same boat as other Aspire properties — Aspire Global has been a pet peeve of mine for a good many years. A large group of casinos imposing draconian terms on players and hell-bent on ignoring any and all complaints: all in all a very bad player experience.

But the truth is that all of that seems to have disappeared into the sands of time, we haven’t heard much at all from Aspire Global casinos for a few years now. So while I would be VERY reluctant to advise anyone to go to an Aspire Global property (for historical reasons), in fairness, all I can reasonably say these days is “proceed with caution.” Aspire Global does have a terrible history but these things can change and that very well may be applicable here.

    Pros

    • Varied selection of payment methods

    • Decent game library

    • Good set of responsible gambling tools

    • Strong licensing by UKGC and MGA

    Cons

    • Embarrassingly bad browsing experience

    • Not the best PAB track record

    • Limited live chat hours

    ZetBet Casino Bonuses and Promotions

Much like with other Aspire properties, we weren’t all too impressed with ZetBet’s bonus lineup. The welcome bonus is the only really worthwhile offer, with an industry-standard 35x wagering requirements for the credited bonus amount.

However, we noticed all table games (virtual and live) have 0% wagering contribution, so this is effectively a slot-only bonus. On that note, a few slot titles are excluded, but not that many. We’ve seen some casinos where they seem to go out of their way to exclude anything with a decent RTP, so thankfully that’s not the case here.

As always, be sure to carefully read the terms for yourself before claiming a bonus offer, as they’re always subject to change.

    VIP and Loyalty Programs

ZetBet has a loyalty program returning players can benefit from. There are 6 loyalty levels to progress through, most of which are fully transparent about how many loyalty points you need to gain to unlock them. Since the loyalty points are credited at a rate of 1 per €40 wagered on slots, you can tell exactly how much money you need to wager to unlock certain benefits.

Sadly, most of the benefits are limited to the last few tiers, with the top two levels (Premium and Prestige) being invite-only. We felt it would’ve been better if they kept the VIP program as its own thing while keeping a progressive loyalty scheme with more milestone rewards, as the current setup just feels neither here nor there.

Still, we liked that it’s transparent and upfront, which is more than can be said for many online casinos. Just keep in mind the loyalty program isn’t available everywhere (e.g., the UK).

    Banking & Payment Methods

ZetBet has a relatively small but diverse set of available payment options. You’ll find debit cards (Visa, Mastercard), e-wallets (PayPal, MuchBetter, Skrill, Neteller), as well as a bunch of other deposit methods such as Apple Pay, Trustly, PaysafeCard, and more. Sadly, cryptocurrencies are not supported, so you’ll need to turn to crypto casinos if you prefer to play using Bitcoin or any alts.

We weren’t too impressed with the withdrawal times, though. The casino may take up to 3 days to process requests, and with no weekend withdrawals, this can mean a considerable wait, especially with slower payment methods. On the bright side, there are no withdrawal limits, and that’s always good to see.

On a final note, the casino has a mandatory KYC procedure, and it’s a simple process. You simply upload relevant documents through your account page, including a personal ID, proof of address, proof of ownership of your payment method, and other documents the casino might request.

    Responsible Gambling

As you’d expect from any casino in a more tightly regulated jurisdiction, ZetBet has a comprehensive responsible gaming policy. The main responsible gambling page explains the concept, offers advice on how to prevent and manage compulsive gambling, a checklist of problem gambling red flags, and an explanation of all responsible gambling tools available on the site.

    Said tools include:

    • Deposit limits,
    • Session limits,
    • Loss limits,
    • Wager limits,
    • Reality checks,
    • Time-outs, and
    • Self-exclusion.

This is a full set of responsible gambling tools that should have just about everyone covered, and they can all be activated easily through your account page.

    Customer Support at ZetBet

ZetBet’s customer support is available via email, contact form, or live chat. Sadly, the live chat doesn’t work around the clock, and it’s only available from 8 AM to 1 AM CET. This shouldn’t be a big issue since the casino caters to the UK and Ireland, but we’d still prefer it if it was 24/7.

Our experience with the ZetBet support team was generally positive. The chat opens up with a fairly unintuitive chatbot, but once you get through to the agents, it’s smooth sailing. We ran into no queues, the support staff gave us straightforward answers to our questions, so there isn’t much more we could hope for.

When you open up the live chat window, you’ll also see a fairly extensive FAQ section. It covers several categories, including bonuses, deposits, withdrawals, etc. The UX here isn’t great since you have to browse it through a tiny chat window, but it’s still great to have the option.

    ZetBet Casino Experience and Features

The casino features a simple and bright theme, with lots of orange highlights. It’s a simple and effective approach, making the casino easy to skim and navigate. It does feel a bit rough around the edges in some segments and doesn’t really have a memorable theme, but at least it’s functional.

What’s not so functional is the casino’s search options, particularly the slots section. There are only a handful of not so useful categories, and the site only supports basic title search. Meaning, if you don’t know exactly what you’re looking for, good luck.

We also tested the casino on mobile, and the site works fairly well on a smaller screen. It doesn’t offer peak UX and we saw some minor glitches, so it’s far from the best mobile casino out there. ZetBet gets the job done if you occasionally play on your phone, but there are better alternatives if mobile is your platform of choice.

    Brand games

    ZetBet Casino Game Providers

ZetBet features games from roughly 35 providers, which is on the low end compared to many other casinos we reviewed. All the big names such as Pragmatic Play, Evolution, and NetEnt are here, though we were more concerned that we couldn’t even filter games by provider. Overall, a tad disappointing.

    ZetBet Slots

In terms of slots, the overall selection is good. As per above, most of the industry-leading providers are accounted for, so you’ll find everything from classic slots to jackpots and megaways. Sadly, you can’t actually browse slots by mechanics or themes, so the browsing experience leaves a lot to be desired.

    Live Casino

The live casino section at ZetBet is a tad better, as they actually put in the effort to categorize games, at least to some degree. There are subsections for blackjack, baccarat, and roulette, but nothing for other types of games like poker or game shows. Not even the usual catch-all category for more niche games.

About the ZetBet Team and History

ZetBet has been around for a few years now, having launched in 2022. The casino is owned and operated by Aspire Global, and it holds two licenses: one from the UK Gambling Commission (acc. no: 39483) and another from the Malta Gaming Authority (license no: MGA/CRP/148/2007). These are among the top licenses in the industry right now, so no complaints there.

However, Aspire hasn’t always maintained a sparkling clean track record. Most notably, they’ve been sanctioned by the UKGC twice in the last three years due to non-compliance with AML regulations and some responsible gambling oversight. Nothing earth-shattering but still something to keep in mind.

    Complaints and Track Record

At Casinomeister, we didn’t have a great experience with Aspire properties in the past. There are no notable complaints we’ve had recently, and other complaints services didn’t turn up much. We only found a couple of complaints, and none of what we’ve seen raised any red flags.

As usual, if you’re looking only for the best of the best, check out Casinomeister Accredited casinos — these sites have been vetted and approved by our community and they adhere to our strict Accreditation standards. You’re unlikely to run into issues, and if you do, you can rest assured they’ll be handled appropriately.
